The Daily Record has come up an absolute classic transfer tale today.
Usually the tales of Arsenal/Bayer Leverkusen preparing bids for Manny Fernandez is EXCLUSIVE to Fraser Fletcher of Team Talk.
Today’s whopper is that Bologna are keen on buying Connor Barron. Apparently they made an enquiry last season and were told no chance of a deal!
In two seasons at Ibrox Barron has yet to score a single goal.
He has started 39 SPFL matches over two seasons with a further 16 appearances as a sub.
Turning 24 in August he has four career goals to his name. Two for Aberdeen and one each on loan at Brechin City and Kelty Hearts.
As ever at Ibrox it only takes half a dozen competent matches to be billed as the next superstar.
Steve Clarke got roped into that hype when he gave Barron a 20 minute appearance off the bench against Lichtenstein last June.
Seeking new angles to keep alive the Lewis Ferguson story, this afternoon the Record claimed.

DAILY RECORD TRANSFER SPIN FOR THEIR ‘ARMY’ OF READERS
Scott Burns is normally a fairly reliable source of transfer news. But every Record reporter will feel the pressure from time to time.
Beyond the staunch signings of Lawrence Shankland and Ross McCrorie there hasn’t been much excitement to the McInnes Revolution.
A Croatian goalkeeper has been swapped for Super Jack Butland, a midfielder from Sunderland has joined as a free agent with a former wonder kid brought in on loan from Atalanta.
Most bears are expecting another £40m spending spree from the ‘49ers’ topped up by the £30m record fees coming in for Nicky Raskin, Fernandez and Youssef Chermiti.
Only Butland and James Tavernier have moved on from the third best team in Scotland.
McInnes has been boosted by the return of loan stars Danilo, Ross McCausland and Jose Cifuentes. Not that you’ll read much about that in the Record.
Last week BBC Scotland claimed that Atalanta were ready to bid for Thelma Aasgaard based on a Twitter account with less than 300 followers.
Either Bologna or Atalanta want to buy the whole team or your talking shite to stir up clicks about Ferguson

Closest he’s getting to Bologna is if he shacks up with the Dolmio Man.

The Scummy Daily Record are PATHOLOGICAL fu**in LIARS !!!
What are they smoking / drinking over at The DR?!
Even the sevco supporters must be laughing at that nonsense ‘reporting’ too?
They’ve actually posting photo shopped pictures of him wearing a Sevco strip
This is Scottish sports journalism in 2026
There may well be 95% bollox printed by that rag, but Sevco are putting our lack of transfer movement to shame, apart from Tubby Shankland we dont know how good or otherwise these new signings are, we dont even get that pleasure.
I’m of the opinion these rumours around Celtic targets are planted in his fave rags by Nicolson who has no intention of spending anything!
Editor: There is certainly a steady flow of feel good stories being planted to distract those pesky anti-establishment fans.
It’s ONE HUNDRED % bollox printed by that rag Jeremy…
Well what they flag up on Video Celts anyway !
Ah fantasy football again what they like chasing that close season transfer cup again, every season is the same as the last.
I’m waiting on auld spew and his jakey pals getting a Des O’Connor at the thought of their favourite team doing the QUADRUPLE again next season, just like they did last year.
Remember they got all Man United when la vie brush heed took over who went on a run before coming crashing and burning after the split.
I watched the sevco rabble the other day it was 4 definite horses bangers that were on it,it was an episode before the split when they laughed like F**K at us calling us shitebags and bottling it regarding the title,it was oh so sweet to listen to the wee guy from Celtic Born channel take the piss right out those CHAMPERS,long may it continue.
