Medical Completed- Anthony Joseph’s Celtic transfer update

Haissem Hassan has completed his Celtic medical in London and is poised to become the third signing of the summer.

A fee of between £6-9m has been agreed with Real Oviedo for the Egyptian World Cup winger.

On Thursday reports out of Spain suggested that a breakthrough had been made after lengthy negotiations.

Celtic should have the deal completed in time for Thursday when they submit their squad to UEFA for the Champions League Play Offs.

It would be asking a lot to pitch Hassan in against LASK on August 19 but a place on the bench should be possible.

Celtic have no weekend match between the two legs against the Austrian side.

With a full week of training Hassan could be a very useful option for the return leg on August 25.

Hassan could be in the Celtic squad for Saturday’s League Cup tie away to Dundee United.

With his medical passed the Celtic medics will assess his match fitness before deciding on when to get the club’s first Egyptian signing making his debut.
