Ally McCoist has suggested that the activities of Manchester City over the last decade are similar to fraud.
Saying that word the former Rangers manager thought carefully and quickly qualified it.
McCoist was on the Breakfast Show onTalkSPORT with Gabby Agbonlahor which is unlikely to be mistaken for a MENSA gathering.
While Agbonlahor speaks as a former player that suffered and as a passionate Aston Villa fan McCoist has a very different perspective/insight.
One that the producers at TalkSPORT seem very keen to avoid linking to.
In season 2011/12 McCoist managed Rangers as they paid players directly without passing on Income Tax and National Insurance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. In every match they played players that they couldn’t afford.
Rangers were operating under a different set of rules to every other club in Scottish football.
Hearts, St Johnstone, Inverness Caley Thistle and Motherwell lost points in the opening four matches of the SPL season.
Those clubs fielded players that they could afford. They spent within budget, taking deductions and passing on Income Tax and National Insurance payments to HM Queen Elizabeth.
MANAGER MCCOIST COINS IT IN AT THE EXPENCE OF HER MAJESTY
Rangers didn’t. New manager McCoist was the highest paid boss in Scottish football.
Allan McGregor, Davie Weir, Steven Naismith, Nikita Jelavic and every player selected by McCoist was outside of the Rangers budget.
No one at the SFA batted an eyelid.
They should have. When the SFA approved a license application for UEFA qualifiers they turned a blind eye to an overdue tax bill of £2.75m.
In August 2011 Sheriff Officers visited Ibrox on behalf of Queen Elizabeth. Her portrait hung in the home dressing room but McCoist and his players refused to pay their idol.
Even with the Sheriff Officers inside Ibrox the SFA refused to step in. Financial Fair Play was for other nations, in Scottish football special privileges apply to clubs and owners operating from Ibrox.
Over the weekend thick and ignorant pundits and commentators have compared the charges against Manchester City with those at Ibrox 14 years ago.
MCOIST GOES FORGETFUL OVER THE EVENTS OF SEASON 2011/12
There is no comparison.
In England the actions against City are driven by the EPL.
Actions against Rangers were forced through by HMRC after five months of non-payment of Income Tax and National Insurance.
Rangers jumped into administration to prevent bankruptcy.
McCoist knows all of that. He’d rather not.
To the TalkSPORT audience he comes over as wide-eyed and short of intelligence as his mate Agbonlahor.
How Ally McCoist, and anyone at Talk Sport talking to Ally McCoist about Man City, can get through this topic without mentioning Rangers is beyond me.
He is by far the best placed person there to talk about it, and nothing.
Suggests it’s off limits. https://t.co/x5fHihehlR

10 seconds
GA: It’s a disgrace, cheating of the highest order.
AMcC: I know. I don’t know, I will have to check, right, but it looks like, it’s fraud actually, I don’t know. You’ve got to be careful, I get that. But, it’s incredible eh?
1 minute 20 seconds
GA: When you cheat Ally, you get punished. And Manchester City think that they are above the law. Simple at that.

THERE ARE NO RANGERS COMPARISONS FOR MANCHESTER CITY
Manchester City appear to have very few friends in English football.
No one arguing that they are too big to be punished. Or that they won honours fairly on the pitch.
They don’t have key positions in the FA filled by placement like Campbell Ogilvie, Gordon Smith and George Peat.
Clubs that lost out on trophies, European places and even those that were relegated want to see full punishments applied.
If the EPL won’t apply proper punishment then they will be faced with anger and action from member clubs.
And it is highly unlikely that anyone at Manchester United or Liverpool will be drafting up a Five Way Agreement to pretend that their club wasn’t cheated out of success.

Suppose it’s just a reminder of just how corrupt / complicit / conflicted
The SFA was in 2012?
Is it any different today?
If memory serves Super Swally was raking in £750,000 big ones a year as coacher guy of the tribute act as the clumpany entered the bottom league as a newco back in 2012 ? Over £14 ,000 sovs a week pretending that he was boss of the new theRangers to the original ? Then when it all got a bit much for him to continue he jumped on to ‘gardening leave ? ‘ Those Marigolds have come up nice .. haven’t they ?
This guy farts and minutes later the Record etc will run a story about it
Never went near this whopper though
I’ve very much corrected a fellow fan of ma favourite (unfashionable) English club about this…
Admittedly he thinks that Manchester Shitty should be ‘relegated’ to the lowest level of the conference down there the way Bury FC were and I agree…
However he stated that ‘Rangers’ (his lies) were ‘relegated’ – They were fu**in not – They died…
Thankfully I screenshoted the headlines of all the rags of The Scummy Scottish Football Media at the time and the guy accepted on seeing this that ‘Rangers’ are dead as the dinasours…
Pity some Celtic ‘supporters’ ?? on other blogs still use the dead team’s original name…
Ach – F*uck it – Maybe I’ll meet up with ma daddy in his old local on Saturday afternoon and pretend he’s still alive to make maself feel really good !
Clachnacuddin and the Hoops @ 2.28am…
Screenshoted them from The Celtic Blog pics that crop up from time to time and didn’t even buy them even then even though it would have been pure fab fu**in schadenfreude of the highest order !
