Green Brigade show Rangers no mercy

Green Brigade bannerCeltic fans partied their way through their 3-0 derby win over Rangers in front of a sell-out Celtic Park.

In the first home match since clinching the title at Kilmarnock Neil Lennon’s side were given incredible backing and turned in a vintage performance as a thank you to the fans.

With the financial troubles at Rangers dominating the headlines the home fans showed no sympathy to their city rivals with songs and banners mocking the plight of the Ibrox side who were 15 points clear of Celtic earlier in the season.

The party atmosphere was stepped up after Charlie Mulgrew headed a dramatic opener in the 17th minute with Kris Commons doubling the advantage just past the half hour mark.

Three huddles were staged during the match with the visiting supporters joining in towards the end of the match despite watching their team getting well beaten.

The win lifted Celtic 21 points clear of their rivals but Rangers biggest battles are off the pitch with the very future of the club under a cloud with liquidation looking more and more likely.

Poor old stuffy BBC (Sunday night 10pm) couldn’t get the highlights of the great 3 going on seven goals to nil, Celtic win over with quick enough. Thought Packy Boner chose his words carefully and cleverly. ‘; I just want to see an end to this whole sorry saga!” Brilliant! Billy Dodds looks resigned to Rangers fate and an end to all his punditry.
