Malky Mackay newsVincent Tan has ducked out of a meeting with Cardiff manager Malky Mackay.

After demanding last week that the Cardiff boss resign or gets sacked the club’s Malaysian owner performed a u-turn yesterday using chairman Mehmet Dalman to sort things out between owner and manager.

Dalman was given the task of setting up a face to face meeting between the two men but Tan has so far proved evasive in agreeing a meeting.

“I wanted that meeting to be today, and that was declined, or tomorrow, and that was also declined,” Mackay explained at a media conference today. “After that it’s Christmas Day then a match day.

“I did feel I was going to lose my job on the weekend. The email deeply upset me. I declined to resign and expected to be sacked over the weekend.

“I’m proud to be the manager here and I think I should be the manager here. I will keep doing what I’m doing and if someone wants to do something different that’s up to them.

“I don’t know if we can talk. Mehmet has been trying to do this for three months, as have I. There are certain areas that have to be addressed that were in the email. I will find out when I go to the meeting.”

The Cardiff boss added: “I will not resign. I love my job here. I love working and living in Cardiff and I’m proud of my team and I have a determination to look after that.

“I have been asked to meet the owner and Mehmet and it’s good of the club to offer that.”

On Thursday Cardiff are at home to Southampton with Mackay again expected to be given the overwhelming backing of the supporters.

Showed great dignity in the face of adversity. Someone needs to have the balls to tell Mr Tan that he may pay the bills but Malky is the man in charge

It seams Mr Tan is of the opinion that with all the money he has that he can do as he wishes with no concern of anybody else’s feelings. He has shown total disregard to the history and heritage of the Bluebirds.

Shirt colour change badge change now he wants to change the manager who has done a remarkable job at the club Malky’s conduct throughout this dreadful time has been a credit to the honour and integrity of himself and his profession a true ambassador to Cardiff and football and is obviously held in high regard throughout the football community.

Mr Tan needs to speak to Malky and ask him for some advise on how to conduct himself he obviously needs rather a lot of pointers. As far as I am concerned if this is what bringing money to a club does I have to consider is it really worth it us Cardiff boys never yield to anyone why is it happening now. My final thought on these disgraceful proceedings is what an advert Mr Tan is for Malaysia and their people lets just hope they distance themselves from this madman.

I can think of a few places that Mr Tan would be accepted with his attitude to any community he can buy better he goes now their is a limit to how far you grind down and walk over people before they start to fight back. I witnessed 2 sets of supporters at the same game commence the resurgence at Anfield.

Now we wait to see if he has the wherewithal to meet Malky face to face or does he want to send messages via a third party for the foreseeable future. It should be made clear our club is suffering during this debacle sort it out. This should be a memorable time for what happens on the pitch not off it.

    As said,Big Malky’s a proud man.
Fan power will see him stay in the short- term.
What sort of boss won’t meet face to face?Sounds like a sh-tbag.And a hire and fire
    type.

Malky is better off out it.Not good for him
    or his family.
I feel sorry for the Cardiff fans,as they are
    stuck with this bampot.
