Bahrudin AtajicBahrudin Atajic has signed for Finnish side SJK.

The 21-year-old left Celtic in September and returned to Sweden before getting fixed up with SJK who finished second in the league last season behind HJK Helsink.

Atajic has signed a one year deal with a one year option after playing as a trialist in the 4-0 win over FF Jaro on Saturday.

Using his twitter account last night he said: “Glad to announce that I have signed a 1 deal at SJK in Finland.

At the same time I wanna thank Celtic, the club, staff, my former teammates and coaches for the time I spent there. As well, I would like to thank everyone who helped me the last few months. Now looking forward to this new adventure.”

Speaking to the SJK website he said: “I feel that this is a good place to start a new phase of my career. I want to score goals and help the team to do as well as possible.

We have a chance to win the league and go far in Europe. I know that SJK had a good season last year, and the whole team wants to go forward.”

Atajic joined Celtic in February 2010 appearing in a couple of games before suffering a bad injury scoring against Rangers (IL).

After appearing to be drifting out of the picture at the end of the 2011/12 season he returned to lead the line as Celtic picked up another double with the leading scorer making his first top team appearance in the final league game of the season at Tannadice.

Despite scoring at Motherwell in a 5-0 victory in December 2013 he was sent on a disastrous loan spell to Shrewsbury as they failed to avoid relegation from League One.

Under Ronny Deila he featured in a couple of pre-season matches but with his first team prospects limited he was released alongwith Lewis Toshney as the summer transfer window closed.
