Development League Celtic v St MirrenForgotten defender Saidy Janko is in the Celtic side for the Development League match with St Mirren tonight.

The defender was signed from Manchester United during the summer but has been out injured for the last five months.

Janko’s return to full fitness will provide Celtic’s double hopes with a big boost with Mikael Lustig the only right-back with first team experience.

The 20-year-old has made ten top team, appearances so far with his last match being in the 2-0 win at Hamilton at the start of November.

UPDATE: Janko played for 45 minutes before being substituted by Sam Wardrop, Celtic drew 2-2 with both goals coming from Calvin Miller.

Tommy McIntyre’s side has been given an infusion of top team experience with Janko joined by Tom Rogic, Ryan Christie, James Forrest and Scott Allan.

Celtic go into tonight’s match with a 12 point lead over second placed Hamilton Accies with the hoops having three matches in hand.

In their last outing Celtic enjoyed a 1-0 win over the Sevco All Stars at the state-of-the-art Murray Park Training Academy.

Christie scored the only goal of the game as Celtic notched up their 19th win of the season in the Development League with the other match a 1-1 draw away to Hamilton Accies.

Joining the big names on the team-sheet tonight is young striker Jack Aitchison who turned 16 at the weekend following a run of three matches in three days.

Either side of his substitute appearance in the 1-0 win at Murray Park Aitchison started in the u-17 wins over Forth Valley and the Fife Elite Academy.
