Chris Sutton has witnessed it many times before and wasn’t in the slightest bit surprised by Ireland’s 0-0 draw away to Denmark.
The result edges Martin O’Neill’s side slightly ahead in their bid to reach the World Cup Finals in Russia but the Danes are still in with a great shout.
Well done to Martin O Neill and Ireland????????Gritty, gutsy and organised as ever!!! Get the job done on Tuesday ????????

In the final group match, away to Wales, Ireland got the result that they required with last night’s clash in Copenhagen following a similar path.
There was no winner from James McClean this time around but that wasn’t needed with a return leg to come in Dublin on Tuesday night.
Sutton was alongside O’Neill for five years of epic battles and rarely saw his old boss lose out.
Liverpool and Blackburn were beaten away from home on Celtic’s run to the 2003 UEFA Cup Final in Seville while Juventus, Porto, Lyon and Anderlecht were crushed at Celtic Park.
O’Neill and Roy Keane were given fresh contracts before the final pair of qualifiers, if Ireland succeed on Tuesday night it will be a great piece of business by the FAI as they eye up the riches of reaching a third major finals in six years
Former Celt’s Roy Keane, Steve Walford and Steve Guppy are all part of O’Neill’s backroom team.
