Hamilton boss joins in criticism of officials

|

The breakdown in authority and respect between managers and officials has continued today with Hamilton boss Billy Reid’s outburst after seeing a perfectly good goal disallowed against Dundee United on Saturday.

Ever since the SFA attempted to cover up the events between Dundee United and Celtic on October 17 referees have been vulnerable to criticism.

With Hugh Dallas fast-tracking Dougie McDonald back into the SPL at this weekends Hibs-Motherwell clash the criticism is bound to grow.

Reid described assistant referee Lawrence Kerrigan as a genius for disallowing a goal on the far side of the park of the pitch from which he was covering!

The Hamilton boss said: “If the ref makes a call and makes a mistake, I’ll put up with that because he’s 20 yards away but he didn’t make the call.

“The linesman did – from 60 yards away – and he’s looking through two goal-posts, a ruck of legs and a goal net – and he calls the ball out.

“If he makes that call the ball has got to be well over the line. TV evidence proved it wasn’t and players said that at the time.

“I don’t know whether the goalie would have come out for the ball as play went on but we put it in the net in the first minute of the match.”

Referee Callum Murray went with Kerrigan’s call and disallowed the goal with Dundee United going on to win 1-0.

This is the same guy who said W Collum had a good game v rankers, to be honest said never was penalty,

As for Dallasgate hope they have big carpet to sweep all lies under it,

For your poppies why were we rail-roaded by SFA? No complaints, down south did, Manure, Chelski, Arsenal not wear them last season, and this, as it might offend some players was their answer.
