Lee McCulloch suspended for Celtic clash

|

red card Celtic newsRangers midfielder Lee McCulloch is set to serve a three match ban rulling him out of the SPL clash with Celtic on February 20.

McCulloch picked up a first half yellow card in last night’s win over Hibs- his sixth caution of the season.

Assuming that each booking is worth three points that takes him onto the 18 point mark that triggers an automatic suspension.

McCulloch served two suspensions last season which means that he’ll now be banned for three games.

Under SFA rules the suspension starts a fortnight after going over the limit meaning that he will miss the matches against Motherwell, Celtic and St Johnstone.

Rangers have the second best disciplinary record in the SPL, behind Motherwell, with just 33 yellow cards from 21 matches. Celtic have had 40 bookings in 23 matches.

After watching Euan Norris it looked as if only Celtic players were to get booked, why did Hertz end up with 11 I dont know.

I heard Moaning Jim say on BBC that the 4th offical looked at him regards certain players… 1 never came back for 2nd half, a case of wink wink nudge nudge

Celtic must surely complain , officially, about that refereeing performance last night..??

Having thrashed Hearts and with no worries about “sour grapes” being levelled at us…..we should demand an explanation for decisions which were at best…baffling…and at worst …sinister….

One simple example…Izzy gets booked for persistent fouling….Skacel has committed 5 fouls before his booking ..then tugs a player back by the jersey….and stays on the park??

No …the yellow card count last night is unacceptable …and needs an explanation from the MIB….

    Sorry…as regards Elbows…how he’s not in jail …is a mystery to me….

Jefferies has some brassneck that’s for sure!!

    He said of the H/T Skacel substitution;

‘I told him,”you wont get away with that HERE with the crowd and the reaction of the players”.

Why not he got away with it for most of the first half Jim!!?!
Jim went on: “I thought he was unfairly treated a couple of times”.

You’re right there Jim he did!

If he had not been treated “unfairly” his first yellow would have been his second and a red and should probably have come alot sooner.

And Ian Blacks assault on big Paddy should have seen a straight red card, an ASBO, plus a comunity service order!!!

I agree with all of you the ref done a bad job even when the Hearts player stood on Paddy McCourt he didn’t get a red card yet Stokes got a yellow for telling the ref to book the person that done it.

But if i was Celtic i wouldn’t complain to the SFA because they will find some other reason to make us lose a match, just look at it this way we won 4 0, the team played fantastic, the way we played last night we could win the treble hail hail
