James Forrest will return to training tomorrow to give Neil Lennon a boost ahead of Sunday’s clash with Rangers.

The young winger limped out of the 4-0 win over Hearts on January 26 with a hamstring injury but is now back in contention for a place in Sunday’s squad.

Speaking to channel 67 tonight Lennon revealed: “James Forrest will join training tomorrow which is a bonus.

“Cha is not as bad as we first feared so hopefully he’ll only be out for three or four weeks. Thomas Rogne is back in training and the other Shaun (Maloney) and Andy (Hinkel) are long term.”

As Rangers prepared for their Europa League tie with Sporting Lisbon the Celtic boss started the build up to Sunday’s clash.

After giving his players Thursday off everyone’s focus is centred on facing Rangers with Lennon pleased with the feeling amongst his squad.

He added: “We took things very easy on Monday and Tuesday after they had played on a heavy pitch at Tannadice, that took a bit out of them.

“We had a hard day yesterday (Wednesday) and they were off today. The atmosphere amongst them is very good.

“We’re trying to keep things as normal as we possibly can. It’s another league game, the outcome is three points and it’s important that we keep the run going no matter who we’re playing. It just happens to be Rangers this weekend.

“The football has been good, we’ve stepped it up over the last six or seven weeks to another level.

“We’re not taking anything for granted, you’re not going to get the perfect game or perfect run of performances.

“There’s going to be difficult games between now and the end of the season but so far they are playing with a bit of freedom, they are expressing themselves the way that we want to.”
