Terry Butcher highlights Wilson and Izaguirre as Celtic's danger men

|

Mark Wilson Celtic newsTerry Butcher has highlighted full-backs Mark Wilson and Emilio Izaguirre as the Celtic danger men.

Izaguirre was in man-of-the-match form- giving Stuart Duff a torid time- when Celtic won 2-1 against Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup but was red carded in the following match against Rangers in the Co-Operative Cup Final.

Rangers decision to play a 4-4-2 formation at Hampden restricted the opportunities for Wilson and Izaguirre to push forward with Butcher likely to try something similar tin today’s SPL clash

“We know about Emilio Izaguirre and Mark Wilson,” the Caley Thistle boss admitted. “Mark and Stuart Duff were in my youth team at Dundee United. Mark is the most incredible player ever and I have massive respect for him. He has problems with his knees and I sympathise with him but he is a fantastic professional.

“He played everywhere, in all sorts of different positions at Dundee United. He was actually in the same under-15 Scotland squad as Darren Fletcher and now he is in the full Scotland squad. He is a sensational player and one we will have to stop.

“We would like to play Celtic again at Parkhead and to do that we have to be in the top six. It is a simple equation.”

Neil Lennon will have some big decisions to make before naming his team today after being without over a dozen players away on international duty over the last fortnight.

Freddie Ljungberg could earn a place on the bench with Efrain Juarez also coming into contention after playing well at Inverness in the Scottish Cup but failing to make the bench in the Co-Operative Cup final against Rangers.

Tery Bugner would be well concentrating on getting in a couple of decent grounds men, or would it really matter what condidion the pitch is in as to whether a Celtic game goes ahead or not???
