Willie Collum and Craig Thomson get key Celtic matches

Willie Collum will take charge of Celtic’s trip to Kilmarnock on Sunday.

The blundering whistler hasn’t been in charge of an SPL match involving Celtic since the 1-1 draw at Hamilton on January 12.

That match was marred by a catalogue of mistakes from Collum who allowed a clearly offside goal for Hamilton to stand, booked Niall McGinn for simulation, sent off James Forrest and disallowed a last minute ‘winner’ from Anthony Stokes.

Collum did take charge of Celtic’s Scottish Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen when he awarded Celtic two penalties.

Celtic’s trip to Hearts next Wednesday will be refereed by Craig Thomson who handled the same fixture controversially earlier in the season.

Hearts beat Celtic 2-0 on that occasion but the game is best remembered for Neil Lennon being ordered from the dug-out after watching Celtic denied a penalty when Ryan Stevenson handled the ball in the penalty box.

Stevie O’Reilly has been drafted in to take charge of tomorrow night’s match with Inverness which was originally scheduled to be refereed by Thomson.

Iain Brines will take charge of Saturday’s Hearts v Rangers match at Ibrox.

Rangers match with Dundee United will be refereed by Calum Murray.
