Tony Watt’s storming end to the season has earned him a call up into the Scotland u-19 squad.
The striker has been named alongside three other Celtic team-mates for the double header away to Denmark on May 10 and 12.
Scotland coach Billy Stark announced the 19 man squad yesterday which includes Lewis Toshney, Callum McGregor and goalkeeper Robbie Thomson as well as Watt.
The former Airdrie striker joined Celtic in January and made a big impact as Celtic claimed the u-19 title although he missed out on last week’s SFA Youth Cup win over Rangers because he had already played in the competition for Airdrie.
After Saturday’s final match of the season against Hearts Celtic coach Stevie Frail said: “When we signed Tony it was with a view to going into the first team. He was a handful today and kept the Hearts defence busy.
“We knew what we were getting from Tony when he came in. We knew that there was a lot to work on including his fitness but he’s worked tirelessly since arriving. You can see what you are going to get, he still has to work on his fitness but we’re excited by him.”
