Lennon fears wrist break for Kayal

|

Biram KayalBiram Kayal’s season looks to be over after the midfielder suffered a suspected broken arm during Celtic’s 3-2 defeat from Inverness Caley Thistle.

With 20 minutes left to play Kayal was caught late and dangerously by Ross Tokely as he shot for goal.

The defender crashed into Kayal in the follow through of his shot at goal sending the Israeli internationalist crashing to the ground before eventually being put on a stretcher and taken from the pitch.

“He’s in trouble,” Neil Lennon admitted after the match. “He had a touch of concussion and it looks like he might have a suspected broken wrist as well.”

If the wrist is confirmed as broken Kayal will be unable to play again this season, missing the Scottish Cup Final with Motherwell as well as the three remaining SPL matches.

Earlier this season Kayal missed more than two months of the season due to a hernia operation.

    desereved it IMHO
he is a good player but a cynical tackler, he lines players up – many foreigners bring this tackle to our game.
i personally have no time for it. its not hard tackling which i grew up with. its tackling to hurt.

baxterboy, you serious, “he deserved it” if thats the best you can contribute then dont bother. To suggest Kayal is a dirty player is ridiculous.

“many foreigners bring this tackle to our game” lol those pesky foreigners hey baxter!? your having a laugh, scottish players have been kicking lumps out of each other for over 100 years!

It wasn’t Celtic’s foreign players flying in with bad challenges, it was caleys scottish players, kayal is not a dirty player, he just battles hard and wont shirk from a challenge.

You’ve been watching too many gers games where they roll around pretending to be injured and throwing themselves to the floor at every opportunity, just because the refs are quick to book the better foreign players against ragers does not mean they deserve to be booked.

Baxterboy are you serious when you say a player deserves a break caused by a follow through? In that case you will probably say Simpsons “tackle” on Durrant was 50/50? Listen mate stop sniffing yer maws drawers and try and “tackle” the last remaining brain cell you have! W****r!

  • Get well soon Kayal

    Joe
Did u see the man from Blantyre/Bellshill stand side linesman give ICT at least 3 wrong desisions,
he’s 1 for the future Mr Mulvanna Dallas Clone like the rest of Lanarkshire Refs

  • Joe McHugh says:

There was an amazing throw in decision early on when the referee over-ruled his ‘assistant’.

O’Reilly allowed all sort of ‘clumsy’ Caley Thistle challenges to go unpunished with Kayal’s injury typical- as he concentrated on his shot Tokely arrived to send him crashing to the deck.

Commons took a lot of those type of challenges in the first half with O’Reilly barely giving a foul never mind a card.

  • rfc+sfa=cheats says:

the ref and linesmen did little to protect our players but we didn’t deserve anything from the game. the celts knew early in the game the ref wasn’t going to get his cards out so we should have been good enough to battle just as hard and have them chasing the ball, then any over the top and late tackles would have had to be cautioned, referee wasn’t going to give cards for fouls in 50/50 challenges, also the pitch was sh!te, long soaking wet grass had the ball sticking, but again, we have to be capable of overcoming that because most teams in scotland will do that, even ragers have often resorted to that under walter myth.
