Thomas Rogne gets Premiership test

|

Thomas Rogne Celtic newsThomas Rogne will face one of his toughest tests of the season today when Norway’s u-21 side meet England at Southampton.

Norway lost 4-1 to Sweden on Thursday and can expect just as tough a challenge from Stuart Pearce’s England side.

Danny Wellbeck, Connor Wickham and Henri Lansbury are three of the strikers that could face Rogne with Norwegian coach Per Hansen aware that his side are in for the toughest of tests.

He said: “It will be exciting to see how our players perform, England are going to the European Championships and have had their team together for a few seasons. Our squad is picked for next season’s qualifiers.

“Ninety percent of the English players are in the Premiership, we will have to be strong and try to impose our own game.”

Today’s match kicks-off at 3pm and is on Sky Sports. On Saturday England play their opening game in the European Championships against favourites Spain.

big TR is an under-rated player in my opinion, Joe

he got bullied by the Jelly but other than that he’s been fine, had he still been on the park at Hampden, he may well have read that Weiss quick free-kick

At Ibrox for the 2-0 match, he had Miller in his pocket, he was one of very few to score with a header from a cross into the box

He may have been helpful in the ICT match and when you see him before a game, if he is not selected, he is one of the most fed-up players you will see, drooped shoulders, scuffing the ground etc

and he’s intelligent too, guy needs to be given a chance, that’s my thinkin anyway

good luck to him v England today

England won the match 2-0 in front of 18,000, an improvement for Norway on their 4-1 defeat from Sweden on Thursday.

European u21 championships start on Saturday- Spain v England should be entertaining.

    here’s the action

big T was captain of the newly formed side

not too much he could do about the 2 goals – he was left with minimal support
