Wanyama promises to get upto speed

New bhoy Victor Wanyama has promised to get upto speed on Scottish football.

Celtic’s first ever Kenyan internationalist played the full 90 minutes of last night’s 2-0 defeat from Wolves.

Wanyama played in centre midfield alongside Scott Brown as Neil Lennon rested all 11 players that had started the 2-0 win against Hibs on Sunday.

The former Germinal Beerschot man found it tough going against an experienced Wolves midfield which included Jamie O’Hara and Stephen Hunt but enjoyed his first taste of life as a Celtic player.

Wanyama tweeted: “Mixed feelings about the first night in Paradise, fans different class as usual but shame about result.

“I battled with the pace in the first half and I felt better in the second half. As soon as I get used to the pace I will show you my best.”
