Blackburn enter Bangura race (video)

Celtic face competition from Blackburn Rovers and Brugges to sign AIK Stockholm striker Mohamed Bangara.

All three clubs watched the striker in action yesterday but it was Robert Persson who scored the only goal of the game in the victory over Syrianska.

AIK have to decide whether they hold on to Bangura in a bid to clinch a Europa League spot but it’s odds on that the striker will push through a transfer with reports that Celtic have already applied for a visa.

Speaking last night AIK director Rolf Andersson defiantly admitted: “I know people are on their way to Sweden but I would also point out that nothing is yet confirmed or decided.

“In these situations things happen so fast that I do not know if they will until I see them here.”

Blackburn have had Bangura watched over the last month while Bruges had a bid turned down last week.

The Premiership side could offer the striker the highest wages but with Blackburn stuck at the bottom of the table it’s believed that a more experienced striker is required.
