A late double from Pascal Feindouno gave Sion a 2-0 win away to bottom of the table Lausanne.
Feindouno is one of the ‘Fifa Six’ with Lausanne registering their protest about that issue before the match.
The win keeps Sion in third place three points behind leaders Thun with Lausanne sitting at the bottom with three points from six matches.
After the win Sion boss Laurent Roussey said: “I came here to win and I had to convince some players to get the win.
“I told the guys at half-time that they lacked depth and a change of pace. It was a challenge, an additional intensity and desire.”
