Celtic’s Europa League opponents Sion were held to a draw at home today by league leaders Luzern.
The result leaves Sion sitting in third place with eight points from their first five games. Full-back Vilmos Vanczaks scored the Sion goal in the 64th minute to cancel out Adrian Winter’s fifth minute opener for the visitors.
There were seven bookings in the match, including four Sion players with Luzern’s Tom Puljic sent off in 37th minute with seven yellow cards issued in a 15 minute spell in the first half.
Sion were able to field their new signings with former Celtic trialist Pascal Feindouno starting the match with former Hearts defender Jose Concalves on the bench.
Following last week’s 3-3 draw away to Basel goalkeeper Andris Va?ins was dropped with Kevin Fickentscher brought in for his first appearance of the season.
