Twitter Celtic NewsCeltic’s twitter army weren’t slow to show their concern about Emilio Izaguirre’s injury at Aberdeen.

The sight of the full-back being stretchered off in obvious pain was as distressing for the fans as it was for the player as sketchy reports emerged about the extent of the injury.

After the final whistle Neil Lennon confirmed the injury as a fractured fibula which prompted a burst of medical research to discover if the fibula is in the foot, ankle or leg.

Amid the frenzy of debate the BanterBhoys called in correctly declaring:Izaguirre isn’t a man, it’s a way of life.’

Over in darkest Volga, the Bishop of Twitter, marccrosas, was quick to add his thoughts: ‘Emilio Izaguirre is a strong lad and will be back soon!!! #bestplayerinscotland.

As the ball hit the Aberdeen net the Bishop tweeted: @stoksey10 the weapon boooooooooooooooom!!!!’

Team mate joe16led wasn’t slow to add his best wishes, tweeting: ‘Hope Emilio has a speedy recovery. Great player for us!’ from the dressing room.

Ledley added: ‘Not the best of games but 3 points was key today. Now gotta meet up with Wales.’

Taking a practical look at thingsHarper1888 tweeted:Matthews, M. Wilson can both play there, I’m not concerned apart from losing Izzy’s quality.’

From the other side of the world chiefinkorea added: ‘Horrible news about Izzy. Looked innocuous too. Well, Charlie its over to you.’

Over in Mayo the ever reliable PaulaCoMayo was on the case tweeting: ‘Dr friend just told me tibia is the better break to have…heals much quicker #izzy #Celtic.’

On a fashion note MeggieFitz was having a difficult day tweeting: ‘I’ve just looked in the mirror and realised that when my hair is down and straight like it is today, I look like Samaras..’

Back on the park the quiet man from Nottingham Forest has met with almost universal approval with specialbhoy reckoning that: ‘Kelvin Wilson cooler, than a polar bear wearing a fonzies jacket.’

That view found favour with chiefinkorea: ‘Lack of pace in aggression a worry to me. Think K. Wilson might be a find though.

On his debut Adam Matthews from Cardiff impressed in Scandinavia with CopenhagenCelt  tweeting: ‘Adam Matthews MOTM. Close followed by Majstorovic and Wilson. Didn’t see enough to Kayal.

The top stats man CelticStatscouk added: ‘Stokes scored his 10th goal against Aberdeen today. 7 for Celtic, 3 for Hibs.’

Getting over his own Champions League disappointment Shamrock Rovers hoopsman twiggs67 kept it short and sweet: ‘Well done Celtic, 3 points all that matters’.

The ‘buzzbomb’ saw things similarly with bobbylennox tweeting ‘Great win today! Aberdeen’s organisation was impressive. Celtic just kept going tho & it paid off with fantastic goal. Delighted!’

There were similar thoughts from the_eriugena: ‘Frustrating but a great finish from Stokes and a win that could mean a lot at end of the season. Ki man of the match.’

Also taking a practical view of events was TheHumanTorpedo: ‘Pretty turgid stuff today but maximum 6 pts from trips to Pittodrie & Easter Rd is great start to season.’

Not many cards from Calum Murray was picked up by the observant FiKennedyCSC who noted: ‘Can’t believe Kayal went through a game without the obligatory Yellow Card. Maybe the SFA *have* been listening..

No matter what the result or performance may be ahmebertiee is never short of a new hero or two, tweeting:#MatthewsSuperFans & #KelvinWilsonSuperFans’.

Looking back optimistically to last year she had tweeted: Is this going to be another St. Mirren game? Because I don’t mind, as long as we f***ing win this game.’

Thanks to all the twitter Celts, it’s always interesting going back through the timeline of emotions, but I might not have managed it if @stoksey10 had’t found the net.

Gutted for Izzy, hope he’s back soon, a real pleasure to watch play football and it’s sad to see any player suffer an injury like that.
