Paul George Celtic news Celtic’s youth side dropped their first points of the season in a 1 1 draw at Aberdeen.

It was a sore result for John Kennedy’s side to take as they paid the price for squandering a number of chances in the early part of the first half.

There was little to separate the side’s in a tight first half with the home ‘keeper grateful to see a thundering shot from Marcus Fraser crash off the crossbar ten minutes from the break.

Celtic opened the second half in determined mood and should have been ahead within five minutes of the restrat.

A powerful run by Tony Watt down the left saw his powerful shot parried by the keeper with George’s rebound cleared off the line, the ball again broke to George with the retreating keeper happy to push his shot round the post for a corner.

The home keeper looked to be in inspired home but after Aberdeen had created a couple of chances Celtic took the lead. Coming in off the right flank George saw a half chance and fired a low shot beyond the keeper.

Aberdeen were competitive in every area of the pitch and equalised with 12 minutes to go when Conor Devaney sent an unstoppable shot flying over Robbie Thomson to spark delirious scenes of celebration.

Celtic did have the ball in the net five minutes from the final whistle but the referee had blown for a mystery infringement before Jackson Irvine headed home from a corner.
