Eight Swiss league clubs have met in private to discuss the growing crisis caused by Sion fielding ineligible players.
UEFA have warned the Swiss FA that all Swiss clubs could be thrown out of European competitions if Sion continue to use the banned players.
Lausanne Sports and Luzern have already protested about the Sion six being used against them in league matches with Thun expected to do the same ahead of Sunday’s match with Sion.
Speaking to Le Matin newspaper one chairman said: “The consequences of what is happening could be dramatic.
“Sion are currently violating the ethics of sport, everyone is confused and this can’t continue.”
Neuchatel Xamax and Sion were the only clubs not involved in yesterday’s meeting.
UEFA have received Sion’s appeal against their Europa League expulsion which has saw Celtic re-instated into the competition.
With growing unrest amongst Swiss clubs UEFA ar likely to stand firm in their decision to boot Sion out of their own competition.
Any decision to reinstate the Swiss Cup holders will almost certainly lead to protests from Athletico Madrid, Rennes and Udinese with results involving Sion certain to have an influence on who qualifies from the group to the knock-out stages.

UEFA can’t do anything except stand firm in their decision to uphold the banning of Sion, otherwise the integrity of the governing body would be as flimsy as our own Football Association. The Sion chairmans arrogance knows no bounds, it seems to be that in order to own a football club these days you have to have a few screws loose, and maybe some nuts and bolts too.
