Craig Whyte Rangers tax caseBBC Scotland have refused to apologise to Craig Whyte over a hard hitting documentary that probed into the business background of the Rangers owner.

Before the programme had even been screened Whyte withdrew all co-operation with the BBC although the state broadcaster was given it’s usual commentary privileges for last week’s home match with Dundee United.

In a predictable move following the programme Whyte instructed London based solicitors Carter Truck to sue the BBC but so far no writ has been served.

According to the Sunday Mail Carter Truck have contacted the BBC looking for a straightforward apology but that has been rejected as the broadcaster stands by the allegations made by Mark Daly.

Rangers have had a troubled season in terms of media relations with Whyte threatening to sack anyone seen to be co-operating with the BBC. Earlier this season the BBC were denied access to interview Ally McCoist, the Herald group suffered a short term ban and a critical article was swiftly removed from the Daily Record website.

It remains to be seen if Whyte now follows up his threat to sue the BBC with a Glasgow based media law firm reportedly looking into the matter on behalf of Carter Truck.

So do Rangers just refuse to cooperate with the BBC when they’re not playing?

The BBC have full access when they want it. They are denied access every other time.

    Have I got that right?

  • Stevie says:

An apology is due but certainly not from the BBC to the Whyte knight but from Rangers to the whole of Scottish.
    TicToc.

Two quintessentially british institutions having a lovers tiff….Who cares?

One of them are going for 4IAR, that’s all that should be concerning us at the moment.

  • Stevie says:

True enough Mac. Rangers in the dock well I just can’t get enough.

  • Joe says:

Welcome to one of our sites Mac. I can’t imagine there is much to read in yours, so stick around, we welcome everyone. Well, by not much, I mean not much about bigotry and backdoor support from the rest of your establishment.

  • Joe says:

It’s nice to see the cheats from across the city are still doing everything illegally. It’s even better to see their support has to be more open and be blatant with the bigotry in judgements.

I look forward to see how they manipulate the rules to accomodate the “members” with the theft from everyone in the country by evading taxes.

The results and excuses from the government will make interesting reading, but one thing is for sure, they will not be penalized.

    • Stevie says:

Hope your wrong Joe but wouldn’t be surprised if your bang on the money.

Exactly right, I’ve heard time and again they can’t get away with it, but they absolutely will get away with it.

It will be another Jim Farry moment, Celtic fans knowing it is a disgrace and openly bias and their will be nothing we can do but add it to a list of things Rangers and the Establishment “can’t get away with” but HAVE got away with.

Most recently we have Lennon attacked, video evidence and a confession, bloke CAN’T get away it.

Bougherra grabbing a referee and having to be pulled off him, video evidence, CAN’T get away with it. It is a bigger scale with the tax issue, but they will get away with it.

      • Stevie says:

One easy solution Bhoycott all away grounds don’t finance Scottish football any more. Bring the bigots to their knees.
