Morten Rasmussen Sivasspor newsMorten Rasmussen is resigned to being on the move again after failing to impress at Sivasspor.

The striker moved to Turkey in September but is eyeing a return to Demmark after scoring just three goals.

Rasmussen was left out of the Sivasspor side that won 2-1 away to Oruspor in midweek and has started just six matches since moving to Turkey.

Since joining Celtic in January 2010 Rasmussen’s career has followed a familiar pattern of an impressive goalscoring start before drifting out of the picture at Mainz 05, Aalborg and now Sivasspor.

Speaking to sporten.dk last week the 26-year-old admitted: “The problem is if you go out on loan to a club it can be easy for the coach to leave you out because you are only on a short term deal, coaches prefer to use players on longer contracts.

“I must of course meet up for training with Celtic in January, I must wait and see if something happens there.

“I want to go home to Denmark and play, I think that the league has evolved in a very good direction. I would never exclude a move to the Danish league.”

Rasmussen’s Sivasspor deal ends on December 21 with the player frustrated by the injuries that have effected his time in Turkey.

He added: “Compared to sitting in the stand this has been a positive experience. If I’d had the choise I would have chosen somewhere else but you don’t always get what you want.

“I am happy with the playing time but the problem is that I have had two stupid injuries, so I have not been involved in all matches.

“I started well here and scored three goals, I could have got more if I’d been given more playing time.

“I’m hoping that I can get a club and find some form ahead of the European Championships but I can’t plan beyond that, I’ll still be under contract to Celtic. I know that if I play well I’ll have a good chance of going to the European Championships.

Over in Spain Efrain Juarez isn’t having much fun with Real Zaragoza slumping to their fourth defeat in a row, at home to Mallorca, that leaves them at the foot of the table.

Down south Daryl Murphy was a last minute substitute in Ipswich’s surprise 5-3 win away at Barnsley.

Darren O’Dea was missing from the Leeds team that won 2-1 at Burnley with Josh Thompson still to make an appearance for Peterborough.

Former strikers Scott McDonald and Marco Fortune were on target as Middlesbrough beat Brighton 1-0 while Doncaster lost 2-1 at Birmingham.

Dominic Cervi was on the receiving end of a 2-1 defeat for Morton at home to Partick Thistle despite a goal from Darren McGeough for the home team.
