Udinese moved to the top of Serie A today following their 2-1 win at home to Chievo.
Antonio di Natale scored his ninth Serie A goal of the season to give Udinese the lead in the 68th minute with Dusan Basta adding a second 11 minutes later before the visitors scored a late consolation.
The win lifts Udinese a point clear of Juventus who travel to Roma tomorrow night looking to regain top spot.
Celtic need a win away to Udinese on Thursday night to advance to the knock out stage of the Europa League with a draw siting the Italians.
Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin has some big decisions to make with his team selection for the Celtic match with important league games against Lazio and Juventus coming up in a six day period before the winter break.
Elsewhere in Serie A Artur Boruc’s Fiorentina lost 2-0 away to Inter Milan leaving the Florence club lying in 14th place a point behind Inter. Boruc has played in all 14 of Fiorentina’s matches this season.
