Badr El-Kaddouri has left Celtic- and been named in Morocco’s squad for the African Nations Cup.
The left-back signed on loan from Dinamo Kiev during the summer transfer window but despite scoring against Rangers in September he only made five starts and one substitute appearance for Neil Lennon’s side.
Despite failing to shine in the SPL El-Kaddouri has been named in Morocco’s 23 man squad for the African Nations Cup which will be jointly hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Morocco’s first game is a derby with Tunisia on January 23 where Premiership strikers Adil Taarabt of Queens Park Rangers and Arsenal’s Marouane Chamakh will lead the attack.
St Etienne have been linked with a move for the left-back who will be hoping to use the African Nations Cup to earn a permanent move away from Kiev.

one of the best debut ever seen against dundee utd then he turned pants..he realy looked good in that first game
I remember a similar debut from another left back – Edson Braafheid. The guy was guff after that and ended up with a world cup runners up medal.
No major surprise, just hope a few more of the supposed “fringe” players follow suit. We need players who can offer the side something, be relied upon when required. We have several who should be paying US to stay..time to cut our losses and move them on, only blocking the progress of some young talent.
Waste of space, we released better players in the summer, left backs included!!! Carey\Brennan to name 2!!’
Hard worker but just never looked comfortable, didn’t work out, wish himall the best for the future though. We do need to cut our squad size, we have far too many fringe players.
I would also like to see Samaras go, I honestly don’t think we will miss him, Commons and Ledley should be fighting for that position, also Mccourt, Forrest even Mulgrew can play there.
The list goes on, too many players who are earning big wages who will barely get a look in.
We only signed him on a short term loan as cover for injuries. He left when his loan expired. Good squad management from Celtic imo.
Agree with jocky bhoy.
Good luck to the guy, it’s better to have had him & not needed him than needed him & not had him. I’m waiting on the press saying ‘Celtic’s title charge dealt a blow as they have lost their best player’. The guy scored a goal against ‘them’ so he’ll be able to tell that tale to his grandkids.
what must the kids at paradise think twardzik played pre season then we bring in a loan ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE KIDS A CHANCE ps dylan mcgeouch should start v peterhead
