Rangers pay full wages as Dunfermline and Dundee United miss out

Rangers players will be paid in full their February salaries while Dunfermline and Dundee United go without vital ticket money.

Administrators Duff and Phelps gave an upbeat media conference at Ibrox today and announced that they were confident that the club would avoid liquidation despite having a number of issues that still require to be clarified.

Confusion remains over the location of the £24m loan from Ticketus and who currently has security over the main assets of Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park.

No redundancies have been announced yet with full wages due to be paid later in the month.

“I’m not going to speculate what the review will entail,” claimed Paul Clark of Duff and Phelps. “I am delighted to confirm that we will be making the February payroll obligation in full.”

That announcement is bound to anger Dundee United who are believed to be owed around £100,000 from their Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox last month.

Dunfermline are due a similar amount for ticket sales from last week’s SPL match at East End Park with Inverness Caley Thistle unlikely to receive any money from the ticket allocation that they gave to Rangers for their forthcoming visit to the highlands.
