Forgotten winger Paul Slane has finally been able to make his debut for MK Dons.
The 20-year-old has been dogged by injury since joining Celtic from Motherwell two years ago and moved on loan to the League One challengers in the final day of the January transfer window.
Slane has appeared as a substitute in each of MK Dons last three matches with assistant manager John Gorman pleased to have a new face in the squad as his side push for promotion to the Championship.
“We’re getting players back from injury and suspension, Alan Smith ( on loan from Newcastle) is getting better and stronger every day,” Gorman said after Saturday’s 3-0 win over Exeter.
“Jay O’Shea has come into the frame all of a sudden, Paul Slane has joined us and shown glimpses of his potential. We’re so close to the teams above us and it’s really exciting.”
On Saturday MK Dons travel to face Chesterfield where Josh Thompson has been a regular since joining John Sheridan’s side on loan in January.
Chesterfield were marooned at the bottom of the table when the defender arrived but are now above Rochdale and in with a fighting chance of avoiding relegation with ten games left to play.
