Regan: Rangers liquidation would be a disaster

|

Stewart Regan Celtic newsSFA chief Stewart Regan has described the potential liquidation of Rangers as a disaster.

The SFA currently have two investigations running into the way that the Ibrox side have been run with Lord Nimmo Smith expected to publish his findings tomorrow.

Much of the current crisis could have been avoided if Regan had vigorously applied the SFA’s fit and proper person test to Whyte instead of waiting seven months before acting on news that the Ibrox chairman had served a seven year ban for being a company director.

Speaking to the BBC this morning Regan said: “(The administrators) are sending out a message that if they are not able to reach an agreement then the club is facing liquidation. That would be a disaster.

“It is a pretty desperate time for Rangers Football Club. Having had the club go into administration on 14 February, it would appear that there’s a succession of negative pieces of news emerging almost on a daily basis.

“Last night the news that the club is running out of cash and may be unable to fulfil their fixtures is the final piece of news that will send Rangers fans into despair.”

Dundee United are owed ticket money from their Scottish Cup win over Rangers in January with Hearts, Dunfermline and Inverness Caley Thistle all out of pocket as well as Rangers owing money to clubs in Austria and Sweden.

With various investigations going on into the crisis at Rangers Regan admitted that the SFA are virtually powerless to do anything.

He added: “All we can do is work with the administrators. They are dealing with a massive issue. They are trying to put fires out on a number of different fronts.

“There are a number of investigations going on, they are trying to sell the club, take costs out of the business and there is also the threat of not being able to compete in Europe next season.

“It is a really, really difficult time for the club and I’m sure the administrators will be working around the clock to come up with a solution.”

Too right Martin .What about the cost of policing them and tidying up their mess in Manchester and Barcelona and other places .It’s rangers fault and no one elses. where were all these peolple and their sympathy when Celtic were in trouble . A big hearse outside Celtic park is all I can remember. Karma at last

  • Regan sounds like the captain of a ship-full of toxic waste explaining why it would be a bad decision not to allow him to sail the full length of the Clyde with a leaky tub that has pretended to be a state-of-the-ark tanker for at least 3 decades.

Look out those of you who are reacting with stealth. You might be able to fly underneath the radar just now but be aware you will be up against the raggers. They don’t need to disappear cause they can be camouflaged as wee vulnerable doves who only did what was natural when they s*** all over Scottish football.

Beware, they coo for sympathy and support now but when you get up close to them they will begin to s*** their stinking droppings all over you again. And then you will all get contaminated. The best course of action is stay clear and let them run out of steam. The only negative will be the bit of time it might take to clear up the massive pile they will leave after they hit the ground.

Special warning for the ‘Donians when voting comes round. Beware the offer of a good shag from the sheep that’s hiding the big bad wolf in its clothing. You may contract a very nasty disease, life-threatening even.

Regan is an absolute clown. He is either lazy or incompetent but more than likely a combination of both. He should resign as he has not done his job properly.

Rangers are the SFA. The SFA is the second most useless, discredited organisation in Scotland. It has covered up Rangers wrong-doings and shame for the past 140 years. From signing policies to rioting abroad to this shameful farce.

Rangers are the most toxic, contaminated, tainted organisation in world football and the SFA have been with them every step of the way. Good God the crook Ogilvie is still with them having committed fraud and theft at Ibrox for decades (allegedly).

Regan piss off. You are exactly like the rest of them. A proud tradition is being carried on in your person. The shredders are working overtime on the top floor at Hampden, covering up not only negligence, but also complicity.

You really are hopeless. ‘Internet bampots’ exposed this and other crimes at Ibrox for the past two years, yet on the 8th of March you announce that Craig Whyte is ‘not a fit and proper person to be involved in football’.

You never mentioned whether he was a fit and proper person to be involved with Rangers because he appears to be exactly the kind of man Rangers have been employing for decades. My 5 year old son could have told you about Craig Whyte on the 5th may last year and saved you the embarrassment.

But you knew. But it is Rangers and they run Scottish football, they have been for years (a sizeable number of the 54 were gained by the collaborative work of Rangers and the SFA-Jorge Cadette anyone?). Resign Regan, you are part of the problem.
