Ajax’s u-19 side handed Liverpool a footballing lesson by winning 6-0 at St Helens in the semi-final of the Next Gen Series.
The famous Ajax Academy seems to be back to full strength after winning 3-0 away to Barcelona in the last eight of the competition.
Inter Milan and Marseilles meet tomorrow night at Brisbane Road, home of Leyton Orient, for the right to face Ajax in the final.
Celtic comfortably beat Marseilles 3-0 in their final match of the tournament but despite collecting nine points John Kennedy’s side lost out on qualification to the French club and Barcelona.
Ajax must be heavy favourites to lift the trophy after their demolition of Liverpool and Barcelona in the previous rounds.
Sixteen teams took part in this season’s inaugural competition with Chelsea signing up to come on board next term.

Ajax showed they were a class act in the recent Future cup so no surprise they are doing so well. However I also noted they were beaten fairly easily in the Futures cup final by Anderlecht who are not in this tourney…a great pity. Anderlecht also had the best player of the tourney at only 16 years old.
