Duff and Phelps: no bid capable of acceptance

Paul Clark Rangers newsDuff and Phelps have issued their bleakest ever statement about the condition of Rangers revealing that ‘there was not a bid capable of acceptance’.

The statement from the club administrators came after another day of poker amongst the bidders with Billy Ng walking away and Bill Miller issuing a bizarre medical statement demanding that the SPL withhold any sanctions for administration or liquidation and the formation of a newco.

Clearly irked by suggestions that they were part of the problem Paul Clark laid his cards on the table tonight to state the case for Duff and Phelps.

Tonight’s Clark said: “Let me be clear – we could not have moved more quickly during the past week as there was not a bid capable of acceptance.

“Despite suggestions to the contrary, it is not a case of the administrators refusing to nail down their choice – we can only accept a bid that is unequivocal.

“It should be reiterated, however, that no unconditional bid has been tabled by any party.

“There have been a number of complicating factors in recent weeks, not least the cloud of possible further SPL sanctions against the Club and the withdrawal of one of the parties last week when it emerged they had no formal agreements in place with their partners.

“This, combined with uncertainty regarding the role of Ticketus in any future ownership, has led to delays that we and all Rangers supporters would prefer not to have occurred.”

Going on to discuss today’s public statements Clark added: “Today, we have seen the Singapore consortium led by Mr Bill Ng issue a statement announcing withdrawal from the process whilst indicating the possibility of launching a bid again at a later time.

“This has been reflective of the changing position of bidders. We have also read the statement by Mr Bill Miller that sets out a vision for the club, but acknowledges it as being dependent on possible SPL sanctions.

“We can however say that if these issues could be addressed the structure of the bid has potential.”

Despite having contacts through the Scottish business community David Murray was unable to find anyone to buy out his stake in Rangers until Craig Whyte paid £1 for his share holding.

With the clubs finances taking a further plunge into the red due to Whyte’s mismanagement it looks increasingly likely that Rangers will be liquidated with no-one willing to pay the price for the problems created by Whyte and Murray.

Its like watching karma. The slow painful death of Rangers FC. When they are liquidated ALL assets of Rangers FC must be sold off to pay the creditors as much back as possible. Any Newco will have to start its life without a football ground, without training facilities and without any players. If the SPL decide to bend the rules to allow a completely new team into the SPL then Scottish football will never be the same again, and I for one will never attend an SPL match ever again should this be allowed to happen.

Here here. Let the disease that is rangers fc be vaccinated once and for all. If the corrupt footballing bodies let them off without any punishment after going into liquidation there will be hell to pay.

As much as you are right, we all know what is really happening behind the scenes is the establishment are working their socks off to figure out a way their team suffers as little as possible. Good od, they are biased enough against us at the minute. Can you imagine how much they will try to control us after they lose their team?

All decent football fans have got to let them know that we will stop watching spl games if the proper penalties are not enforced against the cheats and defrauders .

joe who`s ever right does`nt matter. i`d a paid a score to watch that blight on football die the death there dieing now. and not painful enough it is. for decades they sang no one likes us we dont care . THEY DO NOW

The sheer arrogance of the Bill Miller bid should be the headlines demanding guarantee’s when they have clearly been cheating for years. Accept the punishment and start afresh where you belong the 3rd division IF they will take you.

All these problems BEFORE the real biggie with the dual contracts. When they go into liquidation they won’t have any problems about removing their name from tainted titles as they won’t exist.

The club continues to lose money hand over fist and the creditors are still being shafted…time someone took a stand and forced them to start paying back all those owed. Sell off the stadium, training ground any other assets then we shall see REAL bidders interest. No possibility of a CVA, never has been so why continue to waste time with these chancers.

Lets see… we huvny been paying oor bills for years, we’ve been registering players against SPL rules fur years, the way oot is te give as little back as possible to those we owe money to, keep aw oor assets and carry on as if nothing happened. Great dignified plan eh?

  • How hard can it be to put 2 quid on the table that’s double what they went for the last time some one bought them a year ago. Hail hail

“There was not a bid capable of acceptance”: I’d be a bit worried if I was an orc. Duff and Duffer, the people who have the future of their club in their hands, obviously dont have English as their first language.

Dont they mean: ‘There wasn’t a bid WE could accept”. I think they’re trying to deny responsibility for the decision by blaming the bids for not accepting themselves. They’re spinning so much, they’re tying themselves in knots.

The stumbling block for supporters of that club (in administration) and now Bill Murray would appear to be they don’t want to lose their history, its not just the two pounds it should cost to give Whyte 100% profit on his investment.

I say this saga has gone on way too long, time to kill them off and drag their history and five stars right out of their stone cold n dead hearts before consigning them n their history to the bin where they belong.
    Hail hail

Duff & Phelps, you are my hero’s. the non acceptance of a bid says it all. IN LIQUIDATION WE TRUST!

  • stubhoy says:

No Capable Bidder means no-one willing to pay Mr Whyte 20-30 mil for his shares me thinks, no surprise there. Also if they do get liquidated then Whyte is in pocket as het gets a percentage of the assets when the club and everything connected are sold… RFC fans are so delusional to think that Duff & Duffer are not in communication with Whyte and struck a deal for this to happen arouind 12 months ago

  • iain says:

I love SDM , I love Craigee boy Whyte and now Im starting to love D and P . Keep it goin long as u can bhoys , keep taking every penny from their bloated carcass , make them suffer , give them false hope , tell them its all gonna be fine , tell them they’ll be back stronger… all the better when we bury them.
