Details revealed of the Rangers players get-out deals

|

Ally McCoist Rangers newsChristmas comes early for agents this year with June 1 the big day for anyone with a player at Ibrox.

That’s the date that the Rangers players return to full pay after a three month cut and when the players get-out clauses are activated.

While Ally McCoist’s squad were acclaimed as heroes for saving the club in March by taking pay cuts of upto 75% it’s the club that are likely to feel the pain as the players and agents activate the get-out clauses.

With no European football and uncertainty over five year contracts signed last summer it’s highly unlikely that any of the established players will be around for next season regardless of what happens to Rangers over the summer.

According to the Daily Record the value of the Rangers first team squad has plummeted from £25m down to £8m leaving the club with a massive gap to fill even if they manage to overturn the 12 month transfer ban imposed by the SFA.

Leading the Ibrox summer sale is goalkeeper Allan McGregor who has a £2m fee on his registration having previously been quoted at close to £10m to Premiership sides after Sunderland paid out £9m to Hearts for Craig Gordon.

Crocked Steven Naismith also has a £2m fee on his head but having not played since October clubs will be reluctant to pay out with question marks over the players fitness.

At 27-year-of-age Steve Davis won’t be short of offers of £1.65m to return to the Premiership where he has already played for Fulham and Aston Villa.

Kyle Lafferty is about to enter the final year of his contract and is available for £575,000 having signed from Burnley for £4m in 2008.

Another signing from that year, Steven Whittaker, is available for £850,000 having cost Rangers £2m when he was signed from Hibs by Walter Smith.

Midfielder Maurice Edu was also part of Smith’s 2008 signing spree and is reported to have negotiated a transfer fee of just £300,000 for the final season of his Rangers deal.

Finally defender Dorin Goian is up for grabs at £500,000 a year after Rangers agreed a fee of £750,000 with Palermo although that fee was never paid to the Italian side.

Are they kidding £ 8m…..these guys will ALL walk away for HEE HAW when they go into liquidation as free agents.

How many others will remain to play for a club with no major players, a not so loyal fanbase and surely demotion to the 3rd division with no European football for 3-4 years minimum.

We welcome the chasm……forget them and make the most of it Celtic.

Totally agree Willie. It’s a laugh but forget them and focus on making Celtic better and European standard. Remember in the nineties when they said we were becoming an irrelevance. They spoke too soon…let’s not make the same mistake. Take advantage of this now. With a little more daring we would have finished them a couple of years ago.

Should have finished them off back then, they weren’t long sticking the boot in back then. Apparently tapping The Bunnets phone to check on, and gazzump tranfer targets.

      Bury them at sea…

I apologise for changing the subject, although my comment is still about the tax-dodgers.

Last night, I read a worrying comment in an article for a site called “World Football Insider”.

The comment was in regard to the SFA’s bid to jointly hold the 2020 finals.

The article stated: “Platini may have leaned on the SFA to put in the 2020 bid(as Turkey was the sole bidder). But what the SFA would gain from this remains to be seen”.

Well, I can think of a few scenarios invoving the tax-dodgers that the SFA might have asked for a bit of leeway with.

I hope I’m wrong about this, but is it possible that in return for the SFA’s bid for 2020 Platini’s going to turn a blind eye to ragers’ punishment? Or lack of it ? It’s not as if any of the football governing bodies have a great record on doing what’s right. Can we trust anyone ?

They could always sign Wayne biggins,I’m sure he would do them a turn……HH

Does this mean Palermo get this money and not the crooks

    • Mojiebhoy says:

Yeah, they are basically stealing property and selling it on the cheap. Lol. Scandalous, but who would do business with them again?

  • john says:

they are going to pay no one. That much is guaranteed.

  • mick f says:

WAIT JUST A WEE MINUTE!!!! Those are all Rankers through & through & would NEVER leave the club while it is in the position it is in. Ok that’s enough of the crap that gers fans keeping telling themselves.
They’ll all be preparing their it’s for the best interests of the club speech. It’ll be a good summer watching them go 1 by 1.
