Lewis Kidd Celtic newsNeil Lennon will take one of the youngest ever Celtic squads to Norwich tonight in a testimonial for Canaries defender Adam Drury.

With half of his title winning squad away on international duty and six of the double winning u-19s away with Scotland this weekend the hoops boss has had to dip into the clubs u-17 squad for tonight’s match.

A twitter account would be handy for the travelling support as Lewis Kidd, Jamie Lindsay, Denny Johnstone and Stuart Findlay make the first team squad for the first time.

Kidd played a number of games for the u-19s last season while still qualifying for the u-17s and couldn’t contain his delight at being picked to travel to Norwich.

“Going down to play with the first team on Tuesday against Norwich can’t wait will be an amazing experience #Buzzing.”

Buzzing was soon trending among the new bhoys with Lindsay adding: Going down to play with the first team against Norwich on tuesday cant believe it #Buzzing !!”

Sticking with the theme Findlay added: “Just been told Im involved with the first team heading down to play Norwich on tuesday. Cant believe it!! #Buzzing !!”

Johnstone tweeted: “Beat Airdrie tonight, then got told the news I’m playing against Norwich on Tuesday with first team. Good night!”

Carrow Road is likely to be buzzing itself with speculation rife about the future of Paul Lambert and Grant Holt.

Lambert has been heavily linked with the vacancies at Aston Villa and Liverpool following three seasons that have taken Norwich from League One into the Premiership.

Holt has been with Lambert every step of that journey but shocked the club with a transfer request last week with the future of both men overshadowing Drury’s big night.

Whatever the young guns lack in experience, they will more than make up in effort & determintation. Delighted for them, gives them a glimpse of what is required to make the top and will stand both them & Celtic in good stead for the future.

Testimonials can tend to be low key, end of season affairs but for these young bhoys this is CL stuff. No matter the result, they will gain plenty from this experience.
