Charles Green newsRhys McCabe has become the first Rangers player to reject a transfer to Sevco 5088.

The midfielder has informed Sevco that he won’t accept the transfer of his contract from the club that he joined as a 10-year-old.

McCabe’s representatives have assessed the legal situation regarding TUPE and are determined to ensure that their client starts next season at a stable football club.

The 19-year-old started eight first team matches last season and was regarded by many shrewd judges to be the next John Fleck.

Ironically it was Rangers move into administration that gave McCabe his chance to shine with Ally McCoist’s squad reduced by injuries the midfielder was given his chance.

Green’s bungled handling of the post-liquidation club has left a lot to be desired with his claim that any player who refuses to transfer their contract over to Sevco will be in breach of contract challenged immediately by the Scottish Professional Footballers Association.

TUPE regulations allow contracts to be transferred from a liquidated organisation but also allow individuals the right to walk away.

McCabe is certain to be the first of many to quit Sevco as the full impact of liquidation begins to take hold.

The SPL is almost certain to reject Green’s newclub application on July 4 leaving less than four weeks for Sevco to gain admission to the SFL.

With no players, no sponsors, minimal season ticket sales and no banking facilities inviting Sevco into the SFL would be a massive risk for the clubs to take with the prospect of Sevco going into administration growing stronger by the day.

Sevco are due to start pre-season training on Thursday but with former Rangers manager Ally McCoist still to comment officially since the club went into liquidation it’s unlikely that training will begin as scheduled. On Thursday the staff of Sevco are due their monthly salary.

The first of many I expect and nobody can blame him as its only a matter of time before sevco/dodo fc end up in administration as green doesn’t have the financial backing to cope with the massive overheads IMO.

And all this crap about dropping said sevco/dodo fc into the 1st division better not happen as why should they get preferential treatment.

It’s got to be division 3 or nothing for the cheating shower of shits

Very smart move by McCabe. It was interesting to see Green acting like true ragers man by telling the players they “must” transfer to the newco. He must have known that wasn’t true.

let’s be honest the ONLY players who will swap over are those who CANNOT find another club, despite being FREE agents…ala McCulloch too old and on high wages – I’m sure Green would like to ditch him too.

If they all agreed to move, Green wouldn’t last a month so this is what he was hoping for…he won’t get the blame for players walking / running for the hills.

Good point ‘Williebhoy’ that’s the real reason most of these Sevco/Tesco has-beens are staying. They know that they will never get another club to pay them such ridiculously inflated wages for kicking lumps out of the opposition and trying to call it football. They will ge the same treatment when they plop to Div Three.

No sniggering from Fat sally these days, he has’nt opened his gob for weeks. He might be looking for a way out, without being seen to be “walking away”. He was fully behind Mitty’s sneaky last minute plan to oust Green, but after that failed he has to walk away. The fat one will wait until the big earners all walk away, then he’ll jump ship back down.

Expect more revelations about Sevco5088 in the near future leading to the “big knock at the dooor” for some peepel, plenty of shredding machines being bought, and loads of offshore accounts being moved about.
HMRC and the S.F.Squad are on to you, maybe that’s why so many buyers are “walking away”.

Sone Aluko has rejected a transfer to Sevco as well according to Rangers websites.

He probably couldn’t afford another move to Rangers

Fat sal has not opened his fat pie- munching face . he couldnt keep it shut a few weeks ago, (or when he whispered in Neil Francis Lennons ear),so, i take it he has been advised to keep quiet. The fat no-use coward.

  • Althetim says:

The walking away will soon become a stampede away with fat PLG, as the chubbiest buffalo, bringing up the rear.
