Charlie Green has warned the SFA that suspending or terminating Rangers membership would be a disaster for the game.
The former Sheffield United chief has been given preferred bidder status of Rangers by Duff and Phelps but hasn’t produced a workable CVA or bought out Craig Whyte’s shareholding.
After taking the SFA’s 12 month transfer embargo to the Court of Session last week and succeeding in getting the decision referred back to the SFA the eyes of UEFA and FIFA have been drawn to the ongoing crisis at Ibrox.
The SFA will meet on Friday to decide which punishment to apply to Rangers with the only options left being suspension or termination of their SFA membership or expulsion from the Scottish Cup.
Failure to apply one of those punishments could see the Scottish national side and clubs banned from international competition.
Faced with the prospect of Scotland being unable to compete in next season’s World Cup qualifiers it seems certain that Rangers are facing suspension from the SFA with Green pleading for a compromise.
He told the Rangers website: “We are fully aware that one of the sanctions available to the Appellate Tribunal should the matter be referred back there is the suspension or termination of Rangers Football Club membership of the SFA.
“That in our view would be a disaster for Scottish football and a major setback to our plans to take Rangers forward after a particularly difficult period in its history.
“Equally, the alternative sanction of expulsion from the Scottish Cup is itself a very serious punishment which would also have a severe impact on Scottish football as well as on our Club.
“We will be considering with our legal team the best way forward after the public holiday.”
The SFA will hold their AGM on Wednesday with the crisis at Rangers dwarfing all other issues.

I am sick and tired listening to this bleeding heart crap. THis shower have been a disgrace to the Scottish game for years and tears, even before the Premier League existed.I can even go as far back as when they won the Cup Winner Cup in barcelona.
Even then they tore the stadium apart, shaming the whole of the Scottish game, giving all of us a bad name. They are hated everywhere they go, almost as much as we are loved everywhere we go.
They have been using corrupt methods for seasons now literally cheating every fan and club in the game they ever came into contact with. They have literally stolen from the mouths of the young, old and in between.
They have had influence on cheats like dallas, collum, willie young, dougie macdonald etc for years upon years. They have almost single-handedly brought the game in Scotland to it’s knees through their corrupt methods, yet they try to tell us the game needs them?
Truth be told, we probably all know the SFA will opt for the easy route and ban them from the cup for a season and that will open the door to as much as a “not proven” verdict would. rangers will get away with this. We all know it.
The game is tilted in their favour because there are too many people in power who actually are still connected to their corrupt ways. Need them? A disaster? Sure.
We need them like we need a hole in the head. It would be a disater for the game to traet them with anything other than expulsion, but it is going to happen.

What next in this absolute farce of a situation. The laws of the land are clear, if every individual in the UK decided not to pay tax then our economy would grind to a halt, rangers football club have committed serious crimes not just with the tax scam, that i remind you all they have been partaking in this season aswell, they have not paid any tax this year or any of the money due to other scottish clubs. The SFA and SPL must act or the rest of the world will be asking the question are rangers actually paying off people inside the football governance.
Never in the history of football worldwide have so many revelations about a club gone unpunished. There are many more revelations due to be unveiled in the papers much much more serious than previous offences, rangers for years have been a money washing service, this will come out soon.
This club must not only be suspended but should be banned for life from scottish football, there are so many people about to be outed as corrupt in the scottish game, from referees to officials and members of the association.
They are currently dragging their heels because they know what is coming, in italy paying off officials has been proven and action taken, we shall see what is about to be brushed under the ever expanding carpet.

The real disaster for Scottish Football is the fact that one club cheated & robbed all the others for atleast a decade. During that time there huge amounts of money (by Scottish standards) with the Sky deal especially in the early ‘noughties’, just think what the others clubs could have done with the money they deserved & weren’t robbed of. Maybe Scotland’s UEFA club coefficient would be better off.

Every supporter should email FIFA and demand that they take action against Rangers FC for fielding players that were not registered correctly due to them having dual under the table contracts which were paid tax free. The dual contracts were confirmed by players Billy Dodds being one and their ex chairman David Murray also confirming payments that were not registered with the SFA/SPL.
Those contracts were given to players over the last 15 years or so and during that time Rangers FC fielded those players in Champions League and Europa Cup matches. FIFA and UEFA should ban Rangers FC or any NewCo which they change to for 1 year for every year that they fielded players paid with unregistered contracts Plus an additional 5 years. That would see Rangers FC in any form being banned from all European competitions for at least 20 years for their cheating.
Back this call and email FIFA and UEFA to take action against Rangers for their cheating.
