SPL Celtic newsRangers fans chief Ross Blyth fears that the SPL will block the transfer of the liquidated club to a newco.

Today’s announcement from HMRC that they won’t accept Charles Green’s newco proposals has brought the crisis at Ibrox to a head with less than a week to go till the fixtures for next season are published.

Rangers newco could be in the Scottish Premier League, Scottish Football League or out of football entirely with Blyth doubtful if the newco will be playing in next season’s top flight.

The vice-president of the Rangers Supporters Assembly told Press Association Sport: “The way the world is economically just now, and football and Scottish football especially, these guys (the SPL) can’t really afford to do without Rangers and the income and revenue that Rangers generate through commercial and TV deals, sponsorship deals and travelling fans to the games.

Unfortunately, some don’t look likely to vote in our favour anymore because we challenged the SFA transfer ban in the courts. This might go against us now.

“There is a case that we could lose out on the 8-4 vote or they could put some sanctions or changes in place to allow us back in so that we are really going cap in hand for them to do us a favour.

“I think they will pull out all the stops. If they are going to let Rangers back in, it will be on their terms – changing the voting structure, fines and sanctions for the club.

And that’s the positives. The negative would obviously be not allowing Rangers back into the SPL and having to seek a registration from the SFL to start again in the Third Division.”

    No to newco.simples

  • Tommy Mulholland says:

If you hadn’t been caught you would have carried on cheating every club in the SPL. No to cheats…. end of conversation.

  • Belfast Jimmy says:

We had it coming, nothing else we can do or say. Expulsion would allow us to apply for the EPL where we truly belong. Scotland is dead to Northern Ireland now.

  • Big Andy says:

Away and soak your heids if you think that we should feel sorrow for the loss of the Govan mob. It’s all about them cheating us, you, every wan of us who paid good hard earned money and got robbed. The SPL will survive without them, so good riddance to such a lot of nonsense.

  • Not a word of apology even yet. How do these people expect any of us to feel anything for them.

All they have done is whined and whimpered like wounded whelps expecting sympathy as if none of this was their fault.

You can not stuff yourself with contaminated food and then claim you had nothing to do with getting poisoned.

Lost, lost and lost again for words sometimes.

Actually, this is the worst crime of all. they are in no way repentant. They actually feel hard done by. They blame everyone else. The old “it wisnae me” garbage is sickening.
They do not deserve a break.

  • Bob says:

I feel for the genuine people who have lost their jobs at Ibroke. No one likes to be out of work, but these people have no conscience when it comes to stealing from every working man.

It sickens me that for so may years my oul da was laughed at because he dared to suggest that the hun were cheats. God bless you da, their day has finally come. Newco? Away…

    • Joe says:

What about a thought for those who were out of jobs because of their ongoing corruption? Did these thieving cheats care about our people losing jobs due to their stealing? Did they give a hoot about Tommy Burns losing his job when they cheated their way to our trophies? I think not. let them rot, every last one of them. If they deserve anything, it is that.

    Ross Blyth is right.

  • The Hurricane says:

The correct punishment would be a total ban for at LEAST one season, Then they could apply to the forgiving S.P.L. S.F.A. or whoever, for admission To the 3rd Division, for which I would want a refusal until they apologize for the Shame they have brought to Scottish Football! On and Off the Field!

Years of Corruption within the halls of Hampden could possibly be forgiven(not forgotten) if The present Hierarchy punish the Tax evading, cheating, corrupt Bigots with the PENALTYS they were never used to!

  • CaptainObvious says:

I would like to poke fun but I will take the moral high ground, karma, you get what you deserve. I have not heard one Blue nose come out and say what have we done wrong because they know they are guilty.

Justice is a dish best served by HMRC, now where are our titles!

  • And the world feels happy and hun free, just dont get the sky/espn financial deals that we have tae play rankers 4 times in league or deals off, by Thursday there’s no such thing as rangers there deed so deals off anyway, hail hail, OURSELVES ALONE

  • Robert D Bruce says:

    Best ever today.

Having a few sherbets after the proverbial “hard shift” Sky Sports rambling on about Rangers woes when a Rangers FAN demands to know who is going to vote against Rangers getting back into the SPL.

Needless to say in a non Glasgow, non partisan pub everybody in the room looked at him with incredulity.

    He supped and went.

Where is the apology, where is the humility, where is the dignity.

Will any REAL Rangers supporter please step up to the mark and give us all a proper run through of what has gone on over the last two decades and a proper and realistic appraisal of a set of appropriate punishments.

Seems like. . .we (the Celt’s) are the people. . .cos the other team that used to be called ranjurs f.c have walked away . . .surrendered. . .thrown in the towel.

Echo most of whats been said.
Would like to add. when hearts go.belly up after vlad give’s up the ghost. we need out purely for growth of the club and competivness of the team

  • Stevie says:

    No remorse
    No apology
    No regret
    You can’t live without us.
    Aye just fecking watch us.
    54 and discounting.

  • Jay says:

How many teams, players, managers, coaches around Scotland and Europe were effected by the cheating at Ibrox!?!? This whole story is a disgrace, very sad and thankfully will be coming to an end soon! Hope they rot in bigot hell!!!!

  • JoeG says:

If these cheats are alowed back in without penalty it is a slap in the face to all clubs who have ever faced them, home or abroad, and been cheated by their corruptions. The probablility is that they will escape unpunished, be free from all debt, and still be able to have a spot in the spl next season. Great way to promote honesty!

  • Liam says:

“Unfortunately, some don’t look likely to vote in our favour anymore because we challenged the SFA transfer ban in the courts. This might go against us now.

Perhaps the lack of contrition has something to do with it coupled with the fact they have alienated clubs by refusing to pay them their dues.

    Let’s hope justice is done.
