Desperate Green spins the record one last time

Charles Green newsCharles Green has embarked on a desperate last ditch campaign to try and secure an SPL invite for Sevco.

While Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster attempt to sweeten up and bully SFL clubs into providing a First Division place the Yorkshireman is attempting to find seven SPL clubs to throw Sevco a lifeline.

Since winning favour with Duff and Phelps newcomer Green has been warning anyone who would listen that Scottish football is about to implode without the presence of Rangers generating finance and goodwill in equal measure.

Without the presence of a Govan club everyone would suffer irrecoverable damage as broadcasters and sponsors pull out of Scottish football left, right and centre.

Seven clubs have gone public to announce that they will vote no to newco with only Kilmarnock hinting that they will vote yes with chairman Michael Johnston attracting the anger of fans with his Rangers at any cost stance.

Hearts, Motherwell, Dundee United and St Mirren have all announced rises in season ticket sales since declaring their opposition to newco.

This morning in a final desperate throw of the dice Green has been leaking details of his hush-hush secret meetings with clubs in a desperate attempt to get Sevco included in the SPL.

In order to turn the vote Sevco’s way Green has offered:

  • To back SPL voting reform
  • Agree to a new split in SPL revenue
  • Accept the SFA transfer embargo he went to court to overturn
  • Pay the footballing debts of the liquidated Rangers
  • Accept a points deduction
  • Issue an apology for Rangers wrong doing

Green’s plan is certain to be given the thumbs down by chairmen who have given their word to supporters and season ticket holders on their voting intentions.

A Rangers youth team XI plus Lee McCulloch, Lee Wallace and Kirk Broadfoot with a 20 point penalty would struggle to avoid relegation. If Green’s plan is given any consideration it becomes obvious that the SPL is simply a business and not a sport.

With no sign of sponsors, season ticket money down to a trickle and no European football to look forward to there are genuine concerns that Sevco could run out of money within months.

The last thing that the SPL needs after the events of last season is another high profile embarssment with a financially crippled Sevco going into administration.

Former Rangers defender John Brown has challenged Green to prove that he has ownership of Ibrox and Murray Park with the Sevco boss failing to respond to that request.

Brown has also issued a plea to supporters not to buy season tickets.

With only four senior players from last season’s squad agreeing to switch to Sevco the Ibrox playing staff have already voted with their feet on Green’s credentials.

SFL clubs will meet at Hampden to discuss proposals to parachute Sevco into the First Division with the majority of that division going public with their opposition to the deal.

News that Green is still trying to hatch a deal with the SPL is likely to ensure that Sevco will have to start life at the bottom of the SFL if they ever get around to applying for membership.

rodger morrison , the other blue noses chairman, peterhead, lost 1million he invested in the circus tent ,ibrox, even he has said they should start in div 3.

Dodo fc are on the brink. Its like driving past a car crash! You know you shouldn’t but you can’t help looking.

  • NNoPretender! says:

The irony in the above proposal is that he wants SPL clubs to accept newco into the SPL for financial gain while on the otherhand he has done nothin but question the integrity of rangers former players for leaving the for (apparent) financial gain.

This man is an absolute disgrace that has shown a total lack of respect for his fellow chairmen.

1 thing is so blatantly clear tho; he & rangers are a match made in hell…… Hail hail!

  • williebhoy says:

Has Chico the clown been given a nod from the other chairmen then LOL. Just like his “nod” from HMRC which turned out so well, or his CVA which was going to be acceptable or his disclosure of his backers………yawn.

I am sure he would love to join the SPL with his squad of 13 players including 2 keepers and 2 others he can’t afford – relegation material for certain – then the fun would start all over again….which it almost certainly will as Sevco 5088 Ltd head for administration 🙂

  • Chris Marshall says:

I would love to see Hector’s response if green starts to take responsibility for some of oldcos debts.

    • pat says:

If they take responsibility for those debts and continue to clim the history of the old club then it could be argued they are the old club and then liable for ALL the old clubs debts. And then back to court and Administration.

Although Green will then claim to be a different club and not liable, straight talking yorkshire sh***.

Have to say that the old clubs fans will get the assets of the old club back by forcing the Green consortium back into administration if they don’t buy the season tickets as that guy Brown has asked them to. Can they and will stick togea\ther long enough.

2 Administrations in 6 months will mean 3rd division anyway so why is Doncaster and Co. trying to put htem into Div 1. With the old club fans holding out to get the assets back in their control this New Club can’t survive.

  • paranoidandroid says:

What does he mean by paying off the “football” debts? I take it he means only paying off the transfer fees they owe, then everybody else they owe money to can whistle for it. Can the SPL clubs who talked about integrity vote for that?

And how long is it going to take them to pay of just the outstanding transfer fees? They don’t exactly seem to be rolling in it at the moment. Maybe he’s got a few tax avoidance schemes lined-up to raise some capital.

  • wullie says:

wake up and smell the coffee…. in the 3rd division

  • Like vultures picking the bones of a deadman in the desert.

So when is someone from an SPL team step up and ask for a vote of no confidence to get the head clowns out the circus ring?

  • pat says:

Was there not talk of a few guys who are wanted by Interpol for money laundering etc. being involved in some way – sure I read that in some papers?

Maybe that the problem of not letting people know who is putting the money up and adds to the Craig Whyte involvement in the background given he hasn’t defended his ownership of the assets whilst being sued for at least £30million.

  • sands1888 says:

Always puts a spring in my step to hear them begging or trying the auld weve been punished enough routine, the whole world will implode without the new deliverence fc, heres to another glorious day of being gods chosen ones

  • O'Cahan says:

One of Green’s proposals if SPL clubs vote yes for a newco is “Issue an apology for rangers wrong doing” Jez is bigotdome are at deaths door and still they show their arrogance and utter contempt by trying to bring everyone else down with them. The clocks ticking, looks increasingly like sevco 5088 will have to take at least a year out of competetive football.
Will we ever see the likes of them again.Hope not.

    Keep the Faith

  • CarlisleCelt says:

Why does everyone, media etc call still call them Rangers. Thought they were dead. While on this subject are they allowed to call themselves a name with Rangers in the title?
