Brian Kennedy Rangers newsCharles Green has dismissed reports that Brian Kennedy is about to launch yet another Ibrox takeover bid.

Following on from ‘revelations’ in the Daily Record Kennedy issued a statement confirming his continuing interest in the club.

Kennedy has been linked with Rangers since February but had his bid thrown out by Duff & Phelps in favour of Green’s consortium.

Since buying up the assets from Rangers for Sevco on June 14 the Yorkshireman has been had to deal with reports of takeover bids from Walter Smith and John Brown but has no intention of selling up.

“I have said many times we are happy to talk to potential investors who wish to join the consortium on the basis that no single investor will have a majority shareholding and they support our commitment to a share issue for fans,” Green claimed.

“We have checked with all the official representatives of shareholders and none of them have had meetings with Brian Kennedy so we have no idea who the gentleman is he is referring to.

“He has not contacted any board members on this matter and we have never received any written offer from him.

“Many people had the opportunity to purchase the Club prior to our consortium but failed to do so, including Mr Kennedy. Talk of yet more bids is a distraction from the very real task of securing SFA membership and rebuilding the Club for the future.”

Earlier Kennedy had said: “I have recently had several confidential meetings with a gentleman representing the shareholders of Sevco, with regards to my interest in purchasing a majority shareholding in Rangers Football Club.

“The details of these meetings and the written offer I have submitted have been disclosed from within the club.

“Now that this has leaked I have no alternative but to confirm that what is reported in the Daily Record regarding such matters is accurate.”

Wednesday’s proposed testimonial match between Kelty Hearts and Sevco has been postponed since Sevco don’t have an SFA licence.

What decisive management, what leadership….everyone & his dog knows Green wants out pronto…Kennedy has been enjoying publicity for months considering he doesn’t really want to buy them – Unless they are dirt cheap obviously.

Soon the decision will be taken out of both grubby hands….No licence will mean NO CLUB at all – unlike the Americans, I am not missing you already…gone forgotten, goodbye to bad rubbish.

Another does anyone associated with the oldco or the newco ever tell the truth story. I guess not.

I also thought it was interesting that the BBC news tonight quite openly reported that Sevco were “bargaining to get the EBT investigation stopped”. Cheeky bastards.

I don’t know what anybody else thinks, but I’d be livid if Ogilvie and Co get away with that particular bit of corruption.
