Charles Green has claimed that Sevco are both oldco and newco as he asks UEFA to go easy on debts of £3m owed by Rangers.
The Ibrox club owed money to clubs in Austria, Italy, France and Sweden when they entered liquidation with Green attempting to get the Rangers licence swapped to Sevco.
Last month the former Sheffield United chief claimed that there would be £30m in the bank for the newco at the end of this month but he’s hoping that UEFA will be prepared to be lenient on debts amounting to 10% of that amount.
The likely outcome is that Sevco could be hit with a UEFA transfer embargo with Rapid Vienna unhappy that they are owed over £1m from the sale of Nikica Jelavic who was later sold on at a profit to Everton.
“There are oldco debts to certain clubs and it’s not inconsiderable, it’s about £3million,” Green told Sky Sports.
“It’s been accumulated as part of the historical baggage. They’re oldco debts that newco has got to face up to.
“This is the frustration that we have had as a group where, at times we’re newco so we have to sit in this particular box, however when it’s convenient we’re still oldco and we have to suffer the sins of the fathers.
“I want to say to these clubs and UEFA we’re here for the long haul – we want to be honourable and we are people who face up to responsibilities – but we’d like some help in meeting these debts.
“We don’t want them to be waived or expect them to be waived, I’d like for clubs and UEFA to recognise these are not my debts. This is a gesture and (we’d like them) to work with us so we can amicably agree a settlement.”

The only people that benefit from the “sometimes newco, sometimes oldco” attitude are the ones who eventually want to pass off Sevco as old ragers: people like Ogilvie, for example They want to cloud the issue of the oldco being liquidated by giving some reduced punishments to sevco and keeping the investigations into the oldco’s corruption to a minimum. That way they will also protect the people responsible for the oldco’s corruption- by again keeping any investigations into them to a minimum.
Then, one fine day, if they get their way, they’ll announce that sevco is the old ragers. They’ll announce that ragers history is intact, that it has paid for its sins, and all its debts are gone.
We need to make sure that no-one is allowed to blur the difference between the oldco and the newco. And we need to make sure that the oldco, and the people who ran, it are still investigated thoroughly and, if guilty, punished properly.

Why not settle the debts from the money you scooper in selling Jelavic or stole from claiming 2nd prize money.

Does that mean the new dark side can’t use the old darksides in liquidation name of any description..
I read to the article re: reuse of the name and it looks to me under the exceptions that they can use it if registered immediately which I assume Green has. Unless I am misinterpreting. Hope I am.
