Charles Green newsPaul Stretford has been confirmed as assisting Sevco.

The controversial agent has been a long term friend of Charles Green and is the second English based agent in a week to become involved with Sevco.

Nottingham based agent Craig Mather was confirmed as an investor in midweek, paying £1m for a 10% stake in the club which didn’t tie in with any of the previous sums about the value of Sevco.

News of two agents involved in the club is bound to concern the football authorities and Rangers supporters alike ahead of a week that could finally define if the new club will take to the field.

On Friday both the SFA and Sevco chairman Malcolm Murray claimed that a deal for the transfer of membership was close to agreement but that was thrown into doubt yesterday by Ally McCoist’s comments.

With Green unavailable McCoist took part in talks with the SFA over a membership transfer but walked away when sanctions including a transfer embargo were brought up.

McCoist’s walkout highlighted the delicacy of the Sevco position where they wish to inherit the membership and assets of Rangers but avoid the penalties and sanctions that the old club incurred.

If Green, who promised to have £30m in the bank by the end of July, paid out £3m to settle the football debts there may be an element of goodwill towards the new club and the predicament that they are in.

Signing up Ian Black and Craig Beattie while Hearts lose out on £800,000 due for Lee Wallace is hardly likely to win friends and influence people within the football community.

Sevco are scheduled to play Brechin next weekend in the Ramsdens Cup but the SFL have yet to list the match in their fixture list. East Fife are die at Ibrox the following week.

Stewart Regan hasn’t covered himself in glory with his handling of the crisis that has dominated the entire close season.

This week he has the opportunity to belatedly show some leadership- or let the farce run on into the new season with SFL clubs back in action on Saturday.

As usual it sounds like something dodgy going on? Surely thats a conflict of interest having agents also involved in the board of a club, is sevco going to be used as a shop window for the dregs without clubs?

So Sally ‘walked away’ from the SFA meeting?! Impossible, because ‘they’ don’t do walking away! Sevco really scraping the barrel now getting involved with wide-boys like Stretford, who was banned from working as an agent for 18 months, I believe, a number of years ago.

Also hearing via RTC that sevco have only been granted associate membership of the SFA, which surely means that there is no way they will be able to compete in SFL3 next season!

    HH!!

As fat Sally once said can’t say am not enjoying this. How can so many watch their team be ripped apart time after time.

I liked the Freudian slip ‘die at Ibrox’ haha

    Wishful thinking Joe?

If football agents are all that are getting involved in this entity then they are in trouble. These guys are out for no one but themselves. They would sell their grannies for a small percentage of the fee. Not a good sign.

The way it was put a number of weeks agao by Green it sounded a little like the way Teveas was while at West Ham. The Agents fund Sevco and for their investment they get a return on the saale of players, not all the money goes to Sevco. The Sevco fans will be overjoyed by the way the finances work. Sevco is going to be a money piggy for lots of investors, it will never be like the old Rangers FC which gobbled money, instead the money it generates will be going to others.

If we follow sally’s logic then we should go back and give Ben Johnson his gold medal. it was so unfair of the IOC to strip him oc that richly deserved gold medal.

Fat arse is such a wee rodent, i hope he goes to uefa with it, that would be the best own goal we could hope for, his poor mum should have kept the afterbirth and binned that waste of space

The reason it doesn’t tie is that they had also to invest in working capital. Share capital does not equal the price paid for the assets!

Classic deal to be fair to them. They will get Sevco back up the leagues and float to the fans, leaving with about £30m! CLassic equity play. Football fans don’t realise that when it comes to money, emotion doesn’t enter the fray. Therefore, these guys have no emotional attachment. They just want to make a buck – like Fergus did! Similar model, but with a club that is in serious shit.

Guys like Bomber “thick” Brown don’t understand this stuff. He is too thick!!! He lets his bitter emotions get in the way of someone saving this lot. And for the good of Scottish football they do need to be saved.

Still, what a great soap opera. Mind you, we need to be careful what we wish for. Celtic have managed finances well, but again this summer the papers are full of stories about our great youth and how Blackman was a bargain. Lets face it. Neil has been too restrained.

Any job I have been in has had to be completed with the right resources. He has no defenders! Ergo he will fail, albeit win the SPL at a canter. Finland will be hard as they are well into their season.

Lenny, tell Lawwell you need some defenders, STICK up for yourself, or you will end up being trampled on the bigger stage, having proved nothing as a manager but winning titles when the only opposition team were in the biggest crisis to befall our game.

Maybe the agents involvement might be more to do with selling current players they cannot afford rather than bringing in new talent ?

I was told by a fervent Hearts fan that Black would have stayed, but was looking for a large signing on fee circa £ 0.5 – 1.0m….beyond Sevco’s scope I would think.

    • Brianbhoy says:

Willie, you are falling into the same trap! Its not a play on players, its making money and lots of it from selling the huns. Thats how it works man. read my post above. Need I spell it out?

  • Stan laurel says:

In anyone we trust!! Ffs how can they take a positive from all this misery. The wolves are circling so bring it on fatboy. Give us one of yer wee dances!
