Anthony Stokes Celtic newsAnthony Stokes is confident of being fit to face HJK Helsinki on Wednesday.

The striker looked badly injured when he was stretchered off 36 minutes into the 1-1 draw with Inter Milan but left the ground pushing the buggy of his toddler Bobbie.

Celtic finished the match with 10 men after Kris Commons also picked up an ankle injury but Stokes is hopeful that he’ll be fit to face the Finns.

At home after the match he tweeted: “Ankle is not broken, bruised and swollen but hopefully it’s not too bad! Will be on the ice machine for the rest of the day… Shud b fun!”

Commons tweeted: “Enjoyed the game 2day especially 1st half and capped off with a TAP IN! But ended on a sour note with a swollen ankle. Fingers crossed 4 wed.”

Neil Lennon rested a number of players from today’s match and gave an upbeat summary after the match.

The Celtic boss said: “Scott Brown was just as a precaution, he is still coming back from surgery in June so we don´t to overwork him. Thomas Rogne was rested, while James Forrest got a bang in training on his foot and we had it x-rayed this morning and he should be okay.

“Kelvin Wilson has shin splints. He came off with them on Wednesday. But you get that at this time of year with the hard ground, so, again, he has been for a scan and it´s just some soft tissue damage, so he should be okay for Wednesday.

“Kayal has done some extra work and he will train on Monday as well.”

HJK lost 1-0 today away to mid-table Honka, defender Rami Hakanpää was sent off in the 90th minute for two yellow card offences with goalkeeper Ville Wallén given a straight red in the 58th minute.

A lot better today Wanyama was absolutely brilliant today .

Peter chase they rockets down south especially they Stokes and Wigan pysh about trying to sigh big Vic. If Joe Allen is worth 15mil big Vic is easy worth 20mil- against Inter today it was men against boys in midfield with big Vic today, thought Ledley and big Vic were great together, Izzy was good along with Adam at the back.

Only concern is up front badly lacking, to poor, Tony Watt must be given a chance
