Willie Collum Celtic newsWillie Collum will referee Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash between Motherwell and Celtic.

The golden boy of the refereeing circuit has only refereed four SPL matches this season with the hoops about to experience his unique interpretation of the laws of the game for the second time in five weeks.

Collum took charge of Celtic’s 4-2 win at Inverness on March 25 with the visitors running out 4-2 winners. Alongside Craig Thomson Collum is the man most likely to get the big match appointments and was in charge of last week’s AC Milan v Anderlecht Champions League tie. Willie Conquer and Martin Cryans will run the lines at Fir Park.

Celtic’s League Cup tie with Raith Rovers tomorrow night will be refereed by Alan Muir whose last two Celtic appointments were the 6-0 title clincher at Kilmarnock and the 5-0 win over Hearts on the final day of the season.

Calum Murray will be in charge of Sevco’s League Cup clash with Motherwell which will be broadcast live by the BBC. Crawfor Allan will referee Sevco’s Scottish Cup tie away to Highland League Forres Mechanic’s on Saturday.

Neil Lennon will rest Scott Brown for the League Cup tie with Raith Rovers after the Celtic skipper appeared in three games in eight days.

Joe Ledley and Beram Kayal are back in the squad after over a month out through injury.

Efe Ambrose could make his first start since signing from FC Ashdod with Lennon revealing that the Nigerian internationalist can play in midfield or in central defence.
