Forster returns for Inverness match

|

Fraser Forster the great wallFraser Forster will make his first team return on Saturday at Inverness Caley Thistle.

The England squad man was expected to play in the 3-0 win over Raith Rovers but sat the match out with Lucasz Zaluska deputising.

Forster had trained on Thursday and Friday but a slight reaction to his neck injury forced him out of the Starks Park clash.

“We were hoping that he’d be fit today but he had a little reaction from training yesterday,” Lennon explained after the win over Raith.

“We decided not to take a gamble on him but I think he’ll play at Inverness next week.

Georgios Samaras and Emilio Izaguirre both missed the trip to Fife with Lennon hopeful that they could be available to face Juventus.

“We’re waiting on Emilio, we don’t know the update,” the Celtic boss added. “He had a scan and we’re really going to be aggressive with him and Georgios in the rehab.

“I would doubt if they will figure next weekend but we’ll give them every chance for Juventus.

“There’s no doubt Juventus is looming large in the background but we’ve tried to balance the squad as best we can and keep the squad healthy and give everyone some game time.

“Kayal and Tony Watt came into the side today, we’ve got Stokes on the bench and James there. That gives us a lot more attacking dimensions for the big games coming up.

“We’ll probably make changes at Inverness, rest a couple of players who we want to peak for the Juventus match.

“Inverness will be tough but the squad is vibrant and there are players ready to play.”
