Tom Rogic news

Tom Rogic could make his Celtic debut tonight against Hamilton Accies, kick-off 7pm at New Douglas Park.

The Australian midfielder returned to Scotland last week with his work permit secured and is available for selection.

Celtic’s u-20 side will be missing a number of playersaway on international duty giving Rogic the opportunity to play his first game for the club.

The midfielder joined Celtic at their winter training camp in Marbella and instantly impressed Neil Lennon who agreed a £450,000 deal with Central Coast Mariners.

Rogic was unable to play in the friendly against Steaua Bucharest with Lennon keen to have him available for selection as soon as possible with a heavy fixture programme coming up.

Celtic go into tonight’s match on the back of two victories over Motherwell and Kilmarnock which have taken them clear at the top of the table.

Bahrudin Atajic has scored in each of those matches with coach John Kennedy delighted by the progress that Atajic has made this season.

Bahrudin has shown a high level of consistency and brings a lot more than goals to the side,” Kennedy explained. “He has a good first touch and strikes the ball well from free-kicks.

This season he is one of the older players in the squad and has taken a bit of responsibility on board. He’s working hard on his game and has impressed everyone at the club.

The manager comes to most of our games and can see for himself how everyone is developing. That gives the players a chance to impress and the last couple of performances have been pleasing.

We’ve been playing some good stuff but we are always looking for improvement and the players know that. Every game is a test for them and Hamilton will make it tough for us.

They made it difficult earlier in the season at Firhill and have a good reputation for bringing young players through. We’re looking forward to the match and are looking to build on our recent results and performances.”
