Whyte makes his claim for the £50m Sevco assets in deal with Green

|

Craig Whyte RangersCharles Green is facing a £50m court action from Craig Whyte over the Sevco assets.

Cocky Green has recently boasted about how the £5.5m deal that apparently purchased Murray Park and Ibrox was his best ever deal but Whyte is now going to court to claim his share.

Green has attempted to distance himself from Green but in The Sun today the former billionaire from Motherwell reveals that he was the financial backer for the £5.5m Sevco deal and claims that Yorkshireman Green then transferred the jewels in the Sevco crown to The Rangers International.

The explosive story appears on the news pages of The Sun with Green forced into giving his side of the story after Whyte played one of his infamous  taped conversations to back up his claims.

According to The Sun: “Whyte’s London-based lawyers will demand up to £50million to cover Ibrox stadium and Murray Park training ground. If Whyte is succesful and Green does not stump up, the assets will return to the original Sevco — which includes him.”

In typical Green style to Ibrox frontman refused to directly answer the questions claiming that people were jealous of his success and wanted a cut of the profits as he turns the Third Division champions into a global power worth £500m.

He told The Sun: ” Imran (fellow director Imran Ahmed)  might have promised him three Russian girls or whatever — I’ve no idea and I don’t care.

“We told him what he wanted to hear. Imran told him because we needed to keep him sweet to prise the club away from him.”

Whyte is nothing if not determined and won’t walk away from whatever deal he cut with Green after introducing him to administrators Duff & Phelps.

The shadow of Whyte has hung over Green since he went public with his interest in Rangers claiming he bought out Whyte for £2 paid in cash.

In October 2012 Whyte claimed he introduced Green to Rangers with the former Sheffield United chief eager to distance himself from Whyte fearful that fans would turn against him as they did Whyte after initialing greeting the man from Motherwell as their savior.

Responding to those claims Green said: “Yet again Craig Whyte’s version of events paints a misleading picture of what actually happened and it’s regrettable that the BBC is providing him with such a platform.

“The facts are that direct contact was made by our consortium with Craig Whyte in the first instance as it appeared at that time that his shares would have to be secured in order for any purchase of the Club to progress.

“I was not present when contact was initially made but subsequently met Craig Whyte who introduced me to the administrator.

“I had no previous association with Craig Whyte and it is misleading to suggest he ‘brought us in’.

“I was brought to the transaction by Imran Ahmad following Duff and Phelps contacting Zeus Capital’s Manchester office in February, due to their experience in the football sector.”

With more recorded conversations Whyte looks to be a real danger to Green’s plans to make Sevco one of the world’s leading football clubs with continuing claims and court action extremely damaging to the SFA who granted Green associate membership without applying the criteria applied to other clubs such as three years audited accounts.
