Have any lessons been learned from Armageddon I?

SFA football newsRecently I posted a couple of articles on this site, asking the questions, Will They Ever Learn?

I would like to thank all of those who responded, mostly all in a positive way.

We have now reached a new dimension in the gerrymandering and rule bending that has been demonstrated by the Scottish football authorities.

We have in the first instance to consider the cowardly way that the (so-called) guardians of our game attempted to do everything they could, to retain top league status for a club that at that time (end of season 2011/2012) did not even exist.

It was fortunate that there were so many other FULL MEMBERS of both the SFA, SPL & SFL, that did have integrity and were honest enough to say no.

Yet this did not stop the top people in the game from granting that dead club an associate membership of the SFL, to the detriment of others such as Spartans who have attempted to gain membership on their own merits.

Associate membership was granted despite the failure to produce properly audited accounts, something required in any area of business to prove both viability and credibility.

There is one other question that really needs to be asked- where are UEFA?  A member of their organisation are continuing to defy their rules.  Do they or don’t they have the authority or the will to bring this into question?  If not, is it not about time they shut up shop and admitted that they are without credibility?

Bizarrely there is lots of speculation over the next big name signing at Ibrox while major issues going to the heart of the crisis at the club and in football’s governance are overlooked.

There is silence on the fact that within the SFL there is a limit of 22 players over the age of 21, a rule that other clubs comfortably adhere to giving younger players a fair chance of breaking through.  We are still regaled with all these magnificent signings that will bring Newco to the top table ignoring the rules that full members live within.

The events of the last week, with the arrival of Charlotte Fakeover on the bampot directory, further demonstrates that the pace of this debate, with the authorities screaming and kicking on the sidelines, is being set on line and is transparent to all.

If only those charged with governing the game applied their own rules and embraced the new technologies that can make every supporter feel as if they are valued rather than viewed as a consumer or stakeholder.

Maybe then Scottish football could plan it’s future with some degree of confidence.

Listen up Timmy! Rangers and it’s bastard son Sevco are fundamentally and always will be unequivocally, immensely important and integral to Scottish Football.

Their survival and well being is important to the very existence of the game in Scotland. If you say otherwise it’s because you are an obsessed Rangers hater! However despite their importance to the sport as a whole, you cannot discuss anything to do with them or you are nothing but an obsessive Rangers hater!

Cheating and skullduggery and Freemasonry has always been a integral part of the scottish game and unfortunately always will be.
