Scottish League newsUnder fire SFL chief David Longmuir has branded rebel First Division clubs as desperate.

Yesterday news emerged the 11 leading SFL clubs were about to tender their resignation and open talks with the SPL to have a new structure in place for the 2013/14 season.

Longmuir’s reluctance to support reconstruction has left First Division clubs frustrated with fears that full-time football could be under threat at a number of clubs.

Rather than attempt to find common ground with those clubs Longmuir has gone on the attack against his most influential members.

The SFL chief told The Daily Record: “This is desperate men with desperation hanging all around them. It is a sideshow but one which is causing division.

“I am not going to allow desperate men, who are all over the place, to dictate what the SFL strategy should be. My duty is to Scottish football and to all 30 of our league clubs.

He added: “I have every confidence the SFL have played a key role in trying to bring about change for next year.

“What I don’t have confidence in is for these clubs to open a door which is actually closed.”

Responding to yesterday’s announcement an SPL statement read: “We can confirm we have received a letter from the overwhelming majority of those clubs which would be in the SFL Division 1 next season expressing a desire to be admitted to the SPL for 2013–14.

“This letter will be put in front of all SPL clubs at their all club meeting this Tuesday when we look forward to discussing how best to take forward the game in this country.”

David, David, David don’t you understand? You’ve got the same problem as Regan and Ogilvie: nobody trusts you and everybody hates you.

Even in the unlikely event that you ever talk some sense- no one’s listening anymore.

Desperation? No, desperation is the ‘leaked’ Newco ‘Vision’. I’ve just read it in full on The Scotsman website, and it’s the genuinely, most funniest read in a long time..like a satire straight from the pages of Private Eye or perhaps, the diary of 13 3/4 yrs old Sue Townsend character! After pmsl at the bluster contained there-in, I do note the only serious parts are 1: they’re begging for SB renewals 2: they’re only offering a pittance to new signings and 3: the Whispering Coward is for the jump! All of this is off-course irrelevant if they’re dead before next season starts..Carslberg don’t do Saturday mornings in bed, but…HH

From past experience, as a rule of thumb, if Regan, Donchaster, Longshanks or Ogilvie are leaning towards something, I tend to be leaning the other way.
If it was down to this corrupt hun mob of cheats, thieves and liars, Benefit Cheats FC would be playing in the SPL today DEBT FREE and you better believe their chums in black would ensure the robbers of the poor would be strolling into Scotlands top Euro slot next season.
    FACT!!!

Can this really be the first winds of change blowing through our beloved game? The authorities have spoken yet the clubs in 1 decide otherwise. Hope this works!!
