McCoist’s strange absence from new Ibrox signing

Ally McCoist Rangers newsThere was one significant absentee when Cammy Bell was paraded yesterday as a signing for Rangers International- Ally McCoist.

Having complained for months about the limitations of his squad and questioning the registration ban agreed with the SFA it would have been expected that the manager would be on hand to welcome the new arrival.

McCoist however was nowhere to be seen as Bell discussed his dream move to the Third Division champions from Kilmarnock.

As criticism grew of the current Ibrox side word began to emerge about the circumstances in which players were signed suggesting that availability and timing were the key issues rather than ability- clearly an attempt to distance the manager from the process.

Now however, with time to plan his transfer moves, there was no sign of McCoist within Ibrox as Bell spoke about his transfer without mentioning the new manager he’d be working for.

“Money has never been a factor in this at all,” the goalkeeper claimed. “Other clubs were interested in me but it was the sheer size of Rangers.

“If anybody had offered me a contract with Rangers in the SPL then I would have signed that as well, but you need to take the steps back with them.

“I want to go on that journey with the club to get them back to where they should be.

“If people say I lack ambition because I have signed for Rangers then that is something I would totally disagree with.

“Rangers want to be back in the SPL and Europe and so do I. That is ambition from my point of view.”

Rangers International are also believed to be close to completing deals to sign Jon Daly from Dundee United and Queen of the South striker Nicky Clark.

McCoist was probably round the corner in the Louden getting pissed with Murray and crying we arrra peepul.
    He never signed him anyway!

  • Kenny says:

Fat Sal is probably in Barbados spending some of his huge bonus for winning the 3rd division, not needing to eat into his huge wages whilst pretending everyone needs to tighten their belt at Ibrox.

‘We arrapeepul’ is enough to keep the easily deceived on side.

I wonder who gave Cammy Bell his sevco propaganda script to read out.

      What do you mean Para?

“I want to go on that journey with THE CLUB(not the holding company) to get them BACK to where they should be”

“RANGRS want to be BACK in the spl”

Shoorly your not suggesting this has in some way been scripted?
Gullible is as gullible does, Para!

Maybe Fat Sally was in Dallas Cowboys putting the finishing touche’s to the ‘Partnership Deal’ with the Billionaire Galacticos from Govan?!! Ppffffftt!!!

  • Ian Neilson says:

Hasn’t he been told yet? RIFC have no wish to play in the SPL. They are above/beyond/below (delete as you see fit) that outfit and “they don’t care”! Doesn’t really matter if Sally was there yesterday; the club will be in administration again soon enough, I’d be suprised if Cammy ever gets to play for them in any league.

  • Carntyne says:

    Poor Cammy.

His first hurdle “…on that journey with the club to get them back to where they should be”, is likely to be administration.

I’m sure Kilmarnock will welcome him back.

    Maybe.

Bell, Daly and Clark, i’m sure the football world is quacking in their boots.
Like their boardroom the playing side attracts “Carcass cleaners”
Every one of them has uttered the same guff about playing in front of orc hoardes would be their dreams come true, but every man and his dog (except orcs) knows its down pure and simply for money.
    Hail hail

  • KevDP4L says:

Have I missed something here as to why Rangers are apparently signing players and being linked to sign more over the summer?

Weren’t they supposed to be banned from registering players until after this upcoming transfer window closes or did that ban end after the January 2013 window?

  • Jimbhoy says:

    Kev,

they can sign players but can’t register them until September I think. Cammy Bell will be classed as “trialist” until then. Still stinks to high heavens of jiggery-pokery to me though.

  • Coatbridge1 says:

Fat sally is on his way oot.

  • Coatbridge1 says:

I’m sure I drove past Fat Sally, he was heading into the job centre, getting his signing on books.

  • Coatbridge1 says:

Is it just me or it a bit odd signing players when you don’t know’s in charge, who’s signing him, what if the ‘Owner’ disagrees with the signing?
So can anyone in the club just take players on?
Another shit storm in the Calcuta of Glasgow this summer.

    Hail Hail

  • Boxer toye says:

Do the new signings have to take part in a seance to discuss tactics with the team

  • Oz Celt says:

They can’t “get back” because they have never been in it !
However these continual signings in my opinion just emphasise that the “establishment” are not going to let these “people” disappear.
They are determined to ensure their survival in whatever shape or form.
Like the majority of us I would like to see them liquidated completely and have to start all over again in the proper manner, but it just ‘aint gonna happen i’m afraid.
