Kenny Shiels Kilmarnock

What will it take for the SFA to put a gagging order on Kilmarnock’s Kenny Shiels?

For some reason the Rugby Park boss can barely go a week without criticising Celtic despite his own side being stuck in the bottom half of the table and struggling to hang onto players.

Neil Lennon described Shiels as the David Brent of Scottish football last week with the Kilmarnock boss back on the attack with his own brand of humour.

Shiels is smart enough to follow up his criticism of Celtic with a compliment but knows that his choice of language will always attract media attention although Vincent Lunny of the SFA appears slow to react to the wild accusations coming from Ayrshire.

Rather than let things lie after the Brent comparison Shiels has waded back in accusing Celtic of being monsters of Scottish football.

He said: “Celtic have massive influence on the judicial panel when decisions are made. Celtic are the monsters of Scottish football.

“We need the muscle of Celtic, it’s important to Scottish football. The Old Firm in general have the biggest support and influence.”

Suggesting that his own vote for Manager of the Year would go to Stuart McCall the Killie boss added: “If I could, I’d have voted for John McGlynn.

“He had a fantastic season playing kids, getting to the League Cup Final then being denied that chance. I don’t want to say Neil Lennon should be manager of the year just so I can walk through Glasgow.”

    • eastside says:

I think we might have uncovered the true identity of the infamous Blue Nose The Clown whom Sevco fans sent all their hard earned pennies to.

  • conor says:

Ha, the manager of club like Killie, thinking that his opinion counts is beyond me. Let this massive under achiever ramble, for lets be honest, he has to try to be remembered someway.

HH Have a nice day fellow tims TAL

  • Andy says:

Shields loves to hear his own voice he knows he could be sacked after a shocker of a season at Kilmarnock and he also knows McCoists on borrowed time.
He’s put two and two together and in his own tiny mind slagging the Hoops would not hurt his hopes of managing his beloved Sevco.
I’m afraid his rants at Celtic could escalate the more desperate he becomes.

  • Jimbo102 says:

Lenny got it spot on calling him David Brent. He really is cringeworthy beyond belief. Hail hail

  • paul says:

Of course we’re the monsters , if we weren’t we wouldn’t be with the history we have now. The same goes for manchester united , liverpool(once upon a time) , madrid , barca , munich , the list goes on. Id take this with a pinch of salt especially when looked at from another angle. However id like to know specific times we’ve been helped by any panel.

  • Raymy says:

Didn’t he pay compliment to our size and influence in a time of wayward direction from the powers that be? I think we sometimes need to take a step back and refrain from jumping on everything as an attack from anyone who speaks who isn’t connected with the club especially when the source is the papers

    • Jimbo102 says:

Think your a bit naive Raymy. It’s all in the language HE used the word “MONSTERS” were as if you say he was being complimentary he could have used the word “GIANTS”.
Do you think he might be trying to lasso some of the orcs that leave on supporters buses from Kilmarnock on a Saturday????
      Hail hail

      • Raymy says:

Sorry, am I reading it wrong where it says…
“We need the muscle of Celtic, it’s important to Scottish football. The Old Firm in general have the biggest support and influence.”
        ?

    • Andybhoy says:

He was far from paying us a compliment, he was employing the time honoured tradition of having a pop at Celtic knowing fine well that’s the way to gain favour in Scottish footballing circles. Insinuating that Celtic in some way have undue influence over the SFA not just plays into the hands of the zombie hordes, but also the smaller clubs and most of the Scottish press, a convenient villain who they can all blame and criticise for their own ills and failures.

You only have to look at the way Neil Lennon has been turned into the go-to pantomime villain over the years to understand that throwing mud in the direction of Celtic Park is universally welcomed and in some sections encouraged, and I INCLUDE the SFA in that.

It would be naive to think a club of Celtic’s size doesn’t have any influence whatsoever but we are no more than tolerated, an unwanted crutch that supports the Scottish game rather than the puppet master who controls it.

The only two clubs that have ever exerted any undue influence over the SFA are Rangers F.C. and The Rangers International F.C., and that influence has been there for all to see. Shiels is just a loud-mouthed joker trying to ingratiate himself to certain elements by pointing the finger in the opposite direction because that’s the type of garbage they want to hear.

  • mark says:

The guys a shareen nanjiani obsessed with Neil Lennon and Glasgow Celtic, his son is shit at football and there both ugly as Fuck the man on the moon can see there huns. HH

  • Liam57 says:

What did he mean, would have voted for McGlynn “if he could”? Don’t the rules state that he can vote for any manager who was in the position during the season? Was he ordered to vote for McCall? All these questions, and many more, will never be asked or answered at any time?

  • eastside says:

Kenny The Mouth Shiels, we know you have been reading our sites and taken the references to dear old Frankensteins Monster FC and tried to put your own spin on it. It’s not funny, it’s not clever, and worst of all it’s stolen from those you weakly aim it at. Now back in your pram, stick the dummy you spar out back in your gigantic gob, and toddle off to prepare for your relegation fight before you bore us all to tears!

  • Mike Bhoyle says:

    To answers the headline’s question….
    Probably not….
People with an anti-Celtic mind set….tend to get promotions and top jobs in Scottish Football….
Shiels should be looking to apply for Ogilvie’s position….He’d be a shoe in……
    Oh no wait…Ogilvie won’t be punished either…..
    Silly me….

  • seaney67 says:

he’d have a hard time walking around belfast never mind glasgow.
apart from when he puts his sash on of course. it is great to see there all hurting so much but at having to endure our clubs
    dominance long may it countinue.HH.

  • Eddie says:

Yeah Kenny, “Celtic have massive influence on the judicial panel when decisions are made.” that’s why Lenny gets a three match ban for swearing

get a grip of yourself you half baked little no one. Your idiotic opinions are of no interest to anyone just accept you are a half arsed manager of a piss poor team and shut up

  • Sweeney Hughes says:

” I don’t want to say Neil Lennon should be manager of the year just so I can walk through Glasgow.”

Ye’ve got a big tip for yourself eh, Kenny?

Or is the ‘jakey’ look the new George Clooney??

The only reason anyone in Glasgow would be approaching you, Kenny, would be to ask if you had any Evening Times’ left, or to slip you half a quid.

  • Joe says:

Obviously we all know the answer to this question. No, they won’t.

At the SFA there is a difference of handling protocol between things said by Celtic than things said ABOUT Celtic.

They sad part is they still wonder why Scottish football is now the joke of Europe.

They spend their time supressing the most succesful club in the country who still exist, make rules up as they go to penalize the manager because of his religion and connections, they send refs out with a mission and orders to be biased against us wherever possible, turned a blind eye to the most corrupt club in the history of british football, and can’t see why the game isn’t progressing!

Idiots like Sheils who has won one honour in the game as a manager through the biggest fluke of all time, are given paper space when they really should be on another type of paper, that type we all have in our bathrooms. It is the level he deserves.

Yet the SFA will ignore his comments when they actually took two ficticious claims that Lennon swore at a game!

  • Thomas Haverstock says:

If Celtic left Scotland there would be no more sfa or any other club So keep your mouth shut Hail Hail

  • John Fallon says:

Kenny, didn’t you watch STV (sevco tv) they are the club that get all the headlines, just like you open your gob and say wasn’t us, it’s the schools to blame??????

  • Willie Collum says:

You have to love our man Kenny, eh? His mother never could! Fecking gobshite so.
